Seems FMA made a good run, though I’m happy to see Advent Children up there.
These awards appeal mostly if not only the american and english-speaking audiences out there. I dont even watch tv, nor buy dvd’s lately (well, sometimes i do yes, but thats a “three times a year” thing)
Not that the awards are bad or anything, all right? It’s nice to give recognition to the voice actors~!
Yeah FMA had a good run, not that I agree with that anyway :P and well, when a bunch of american otaku get toghether to give anime awards for the first time… they are bound to throw something at FF7!
Kenji: Not a bad thing at all, it cant all be hate towards the english dubbers, right? Also, dont you go to school or work or something? Its 8 am! :P
Not that I’m much of an FMA fan either, *shields from irate fans*, just noticing how many it picked up. I’m actually pleased moreso not just with FF7 but FLCL too.
Yeah FLCL can always get more recognition, its never enough!
WHAT?! POKEYMAN DIDN’T WIN?!
People… really watch… *dubbed* anime? Really? Wow, I, uh, I had no idea…
Um, I watched dubbed. I prefer it most times, because a small TV makes it very hard to see sub. And in some cases, I do prefer the English voices.
The only good English Dub I’ve seen is Golden Boy. Hell Yaeh!
*OH MY QUEEN!*
There are a couple dubs that rival or surpass the original Japanese. Yes, 95% of dubs suck, but stuff like FLCL and Cowboy Bebop are arguably better in English, and FMA and Eureka Seven are pretty damn good.
hmm I cant imagine cowboy bebop in english… I dont know, english voices dont carry the little phonic nuances japanese has. I might not be able to understand a word in japanese but those little sounds go a long way in adding to the context!
