Windows 7: now with 100% more oS-tan!
Monday 28 September 2009 @ 3:36 pm | By tskiller 9 CommentsWhat is one thing we can all agree on that would make Windows a better operating system? An official OS-Tan! Well, that is just what Microsoft has decided to add in for their Japanese language version of Windows 7. Buyers of the Japanese version of the upcoming Windows 7 will also receive a special theme voiced by Mizuki Nana, the VA behind the well loved Fate Testarossa from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Allison Whittington from Allison & Lillia. And lets not forget the star of this new theme, an officially sanctioned Windows 7 OS-Tan! Let’s all welcome Nanami Madobe into our hard drives!
This seems like a great way for Microsoft to get some more sales over in Japan. Especially the otaku demographic. Hell, I know a few people over here that wouldn’t mind picking up a copy just for this. What about you guys?

Nana for 7! I would really like to have this, but I don’t know if I want to pay the premium.
OS-tan or not I’m looking forward to windows seven. It has all the cool features of vista, but current benchmarks are saying it’s faster than XP in almost every form.
This is actually one of the coolest things I’ve read in awhile. I wondered what happened after the Great Internet Debate of Vista-tan resulted in non-agreement of an official os-tan (fat vista-tan with hulahoop or skinny vista-tan with witch’s broom). This is quite cool.
Now THIS is aggressive marketing ;D giving people more than they expect (or need!) FTW.
Need more otaku stuff for me…
Oh Wonderful!!!
if i was still a pc
I’m running Windows 7 already and I can confirm the greatness. It’s not a rumor. It’s just what Vista was without the annoying perks and then improved even more. And yes, it is faster than XP.
Themes are downloadable so I hope they offer the Nana theme. It might be only available on the Japanese Windows site though… I’ll have to do more research on it.
What he said! As soon as I found out that my University offered Windows 7 to Math and Computer Science students for free a month before it’s release, I wasted absolutely no time reformatting and installing it. It is a beautiful, beautiful operating system! Almost as much as 7-tan.
Microsoft is offering Windows 7 Home Premium for 30 dollars for students with a .edu based email address.
