VIKING Unleashed By Sega
Tuesday 21 August 2007 @ 9:50 am | By Jonathan_Leo Comment now!Sega just recently announced what seems to be an action game called VIKING: Battle for Asgard, with The Creative Assembly helming the development. The game follows a viking warrior, presumably, by the name of Skarin who must prevent the evil goddess Hel from unleashing Ragnarok, thus cementing the stereotype that every friggin’ game involving vikings and Norse mythology must somehow involve that beaten-to-death plot element (see Valkyrie Profile, Rune, and Odin Sphere). From the press release on Kotaku, it states that
“Skarin is a cutting edge hero in a fantastic re-imagining of Norse Mythology. Skarin is obviously a very dangerous man.” said Gary Knight, European Marketing Director SEGA Europe. “Add in his inner conflict, a confused heritage and a growing distrust of the Gods and you have the makings of gaming’s next great hero.”
Hmm…kinda reminds me of another hero with anger issues with the world and the gods who control it.
