Versus XIII’s fantasy based on reality

I get sick and tired of saying it whenever a Square Enix trailer drops, because it goes without saying and it’s stating the obvious. But it’s something you have to throw out there none-the-less. Final Fantasy Versus XIII is a pretty looking game!
The whole thing is wreaking of Kingdom Hearts so far. I know the same team is behind this game, but damn! This whole trailer just stunk of Kingdom Hearts. The kakkoi boys with their over done hair do’s, puny arms and big feet. The main man wielding crazy blades looking like a member of Organization XIII. The girl who looks like she shares fashion tips from Naminé. And also the main characters names having dual meanings with things related to the earth ‘n shit: Kindgom Hearts – ‘Sora’, ‘Kairi’ and ‘Riku’ meaning sky, sea and land respectively. Versus XIII – ‘Noctis’ and ‘Stella’ meaning Night and star. Real original.
The mystery surrounding this game is what I think keeps it on people’s radars. Plus, PlayStation 3 owners can take solace in knowing it will be a system exclusive. Unless of course Microsoft drop a skip of money outside Square Enix HQ and it gets a release on the Xbox 360 too. Not out of the realm of possibility. We know how Microsoft’s pockets are deep and that Bill Gates can make it rain on hoes and game studio execs for days.

Hmm, between this game’s “jumpin’n'fightin” and FFXIII’s “Magic->Fireball->Kobold” you’d think Versus would be the more natural choice to cross over to 360…
Also, I still love that car :-)

D’ya know what… VII didn’t even cross my mind until you pointed it out! Another example of Square Enix’s ‘originality’. *lol*
I guess I get stronger Kingdom Hearts vibes coming through than VII because the whole KH team is behind the game – and I just know it’s going to play in a similar fashion and have similar motif’s and what-not.
I fully agree with the ‘kingdom hearts’ vibe this game gives off. But i looooved the KH series, so i’m sure i’ll love this one too.
I just wish they’d show us something else from this game, other then the same cg cutscenes (even though this trailer added the game graphics at the end, but it didn’t show much)
The character in the painting…. She looks so familiar! Wasn’t she in a previous FF?
I doubt she was. But she does look familiar. It looks like a piece illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano – which my be where the familiarity stems from.
OMG! Thats what it was! I saw him paint a similar piece live at NY Anime Fest!
