For fans of the best tower climbing simulator since Tower Climbing Sim 2000, the scoop on the sequel to Assassin’s Creed has been leaked into the interwebs. The story was to be the exclusive of Game Informer magazine’s next issue, however someone got an advance issue of the mag and leaked the story into the Ubisoft forums, where it was promptly removed by the moderators, granting more credibility to the info.

Here’s what we know so far:

• Main character is named Ezio Auditore de Firenze is an Italian noble in 1476.
• The game takes place in Venice, Italy.
• The story circles a lot around Leonardo Da Vinci and his inventions.
• Over 16 mission types in this game, that’s a lot more than the original 4 or the PC version’s 6.
• Enzio can swim, wield a wider range of blades and even fly using Da Vinci’s famous flying machine.
• The game now features a day/night cycle.
• Climbing towers is, sadly, still a big part of gameplay.

No news on the modern day storyline of the game are not known so far, although a teaser site for the game has been launched, emulating the Animus interface and a promise of more details on the 16 of April. As a man who really appreciates tower climbing and accurate hay physics I’m quite excited about this game. Any other fans around?
