No Naruto??
You know what? I’m really sad. Every top 100 or 50 manga list I’ve read doesn’t have Special A with tem, andfor me, it’s the best anime alive today. Howome no one takes a peek on Special A? I love its romance and adventure, awesomely and wonderfully perfect.
Yah! I was wondering too… Man, Special A was really cute!… Although the ending in the anime was really hanging *sigh*…
Oh!sorry for the wait reply!Gomen’nasai!
How about Maid-Sama???That is a romance, comedy, school life and shoujo!
You shall read it!
Or maybe try Baby,Please kill me!It’s comedy!^^
are you kidding me? shoujo like maid-crap will never get in the top
Its not maid crap, its one of the best romance animes that stood before us, if someone puts it in a top 10 animes, 1st-3rd will be its colacation, its not about maid crap.Actualy not much about maid things. Just that she works there. Not much to it, but in school, its more epic! FUNNY!
You know what? rather than saying that animes
with genres like that are maid crap why don’t you shut up and try watching it. See if it’s still maid crap! >:))
~ka urusai kono ama!:d
I LIKE SPECIAL A, AND NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND WHY! WELL- I DEFINETLY LIKE YUKO GOTO AND JUN FUKUYAMA’S VOICES
I think Naruto was not included because its still not finished and it’s now really long!.. I love naruto esp. Kakashi and Gaara (too bad Kakashi died already)but I’m one of the many people wondering WHEN ON EARTH WILL THE WRITER PUT A GREAT ENDING TO IT?….
becoz naruto is full of crap, japanese finally realized that naruto is nothing but an embarrassment
I actually like the old ones…as it went on, I think the writer sort of ran out of ideas, and I heard it’s harder to stop writing a series than it is coming up with one!
My top three are Special A, One Piece, and (the old) Naruto…especiall Special A and One Piece…and Special A is not even on the top 50!!
shut up nobody. You don’t know what your talking about. You better not let me find out where you live by tracing you via email you piece of shit
haha, wow, i’m scared.. are you 12 years old?
One Piece and Hunter are also not finished, they made the list. Naruto is simply popular, it doesn’t have the depth. Like in movies, Spiderman is damn popular and rank 1st on its launch, but it will never make the best movies of the century.
what’s this? no naruto? no crayon shin chan? no beelzebub? no toriko? no bakuman? what kind of joke is this? \(“3″)/
you probably haven’t watched the animes on the list. Most of them are legends, the ones you mentioned are simply popular in their time, nowhere near the best of the best.
*correction: i mean you probably haven’t watched the manga on the list
naruto is for kids. have u heard of any movies made for kids made the top movie list of the century. Naruto is simply action and action, then action. Weak story line, no purpose, simply main character fighting off a big villian again and again, no depth. There is noway naruto can be compared to the classics on the list
Sigh, they must have asked the young people…
Fujio Fujiko’s Doraemon at 5? Tesuka Ozamu’s Phoenix and Black Jack at 6 and 7?
Of course, Slam Dunk, JoJo, and Dragon Ball are now considered “classic”, and FMA are very popular, but still…
The Rose of Versaille at 28, Glass Mask at 30, Ashita no Joe at 35, Lupin the Third at 38, Astro Boy at 43…
Sigh, again.
Well, at least all in the top 50 list seems to have real “substance”, and not just fan-service-filled mangas aim at otakus. If I see any Akamatsu Ken’s work above Fujio’s or Tetsuka’s, I would be very, very angry.
And I’m surprised to see Emma at 45. I hope those votes came from people who enjoys reading a good romance manga, not from those who have maid fetish.
Where the in the hell is GUNNM ?
Yeah for those of us who know the older stuff the list might seem to be a little backwards, with so much of the cool old stuff at the last numbers.
Actually, NO NARUTO, NO BLEACH, NO SAINT SEIYA!?!??!?!?! WHAT THE HADES IS THIS?!
IT IS NOT ‘WHAT THE HADES’ IT’S WHAT THE HELL!
No we should call it inferno!!!!
Sorry but this list is only made of mangas who has a goal or an end. Don’t tell me that naruto’s story has a goal (or even bleach). :V
it’s the fact. you guys just have low level of thinking to even want naruto to be on the top…Kishimoto sold his naruto to the americans now that’s why it’s freaking stupid…every plot of naruto is gay
Shut the fuck up nobody because nobody likes a troll, and it’s really sad when nooe likes u but urself
=D FAG
That’s TRUE! no Saint Seiya!
Obviously it’s very difficult to make even a close estimate on the TOP anything of all time, basically since anime and manga have had an unexpected boom in the 2000′s so, considering that manga-hobbies are more and more “acceptable” and somewhat of a fad among more youngsters, we were prone to watch more newer titles on top. Sad, but that’s how it is.
Naruto & Bleach aren’t on there because it is mostly popular in the 13-to-20 crowd, while the others happen to have a fanbase of any age. Itfloors me that One Piece is so close to the top 10…. when the series ends, it will probably#4, AT LEAST.
it will never be on the top Japanese ppl hate Naruto
only u hate naruto get a life
Wow seriously some of these i dun even know O_O and some are good i guess but cmon ive read better mnagas then these -_- good they shouldve asked more people that can actually read~
Remember, this is rated by popularity in Japan, mainstream media always sucks for the most part.
Oi! I don’t believe this is based on the popularity in Japan its so cruel…………… No special A…=(
yawa ka saba!
wheres naruto!!
i think naruto should be the 1..
and followed by one piece
slam dunk?! what a trash!!!
I don’t want to sound rude but…
Seriously, how old are you? How many mangas have you read? How many animes have you watched? Do you know any other names on that list? Do you know of their cultural and historical significance?
I pity those young Naruto fans who think Naruto is the best anime ever. It might be good, I don’t know, never watch it. But THE BEST? Seriously?
If it’s the best, at least it should be popular in JAPAN, isn’t it? But it isn’t. So by what logic you’re claiming it to be the best over such classics as Doraemon, Dragon Ball, and Slam Dunk?
Next time, try to answer when you’re a bit more mature and can compose a coherent sentence.
P.S. Great, now I sound like I am 60 years old…
I DEFINETLY AGREE WITH YOU! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU THINKING POSTING A TOP 50 LIST THAT PROVES TO ME LIKE A GREAT BIG FAKE! YOU SHOULD DO HOPE YOU DO NOT MEET ME, IM GONNA KICK WHOEVER POSTED THIS STUPID, FAKE TP 50 MANGA LIST!!!!!!!!!!
ahahaha it’s not fake you dumbdumb ^_^
Dont worry dude i feel old to. I mean when i read the list i cant help but notice that only a couple of my top 10 are even on the list. Where is Doomed Megalopolis? Project Ako Wicked city The professional golgo 13,Bubblegum Crisis, Urotsukidoji, and all these people are just bitching abot Naruto I mean in what world is FMA better then Gundem wing or escaflowne its just not.
Oh well the people in the know get to enjoy the real gems while so many will miss out.
…o_o…omg i agree so much…(and u don’t sound like a 60 years old e_e)
Narutos okay but nowhere near the top
Ummm, although this is really late, I just wanted to say a few things: actually, on a similar (not necessarily reliable) list I found a few months ago, bleach was like 81, and naruto, either 98 or 93- so, the question becomes, why?-
One’s about shinigami, one’s about ninjas- must be awful exciting for the japanese people.Meanwhile- one piece is abit more unique with plenty of superpowers to go around for the comedy-filled bunch.
However, once more for naruto and bleach, in the Manga Bakuman, done by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata (a man who regularly puts popularity- such as clothes and trends into his manga)references bleach and naruto as popular manga- and probably not off of personal opinion.
Lastly, I actually thought slam dunk deserved to be #1, or at least #4 or so- when reading it, I had dull impressions at first, but it was awesome. Finally-a bit surprised Ubel Blatt and Monster weren’t on the list- I liked them-maybe wrong age range?
WAIT A MOMENT, WAIT A MOMENT, WAIT A MOMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOW COME SPECIAL A AND NARUTO’S NOT IN THERE! THIS IS INSANE!
actually, Naruto isn’t as popular as you think. in fact Naruto is LOSING popularity in Japan ever since Shippunden.the plot is becoming to over the top or predictable on tons of parts, and it also only focuses on 2 characters in part 2, and has all this crazy stuff that makes no sense like eatheral spirits, a living bomb, zombie ninjas, the eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and Jutsus that can bring entire villages back to life. fans got fed up with the craziness and moved on to other stories.
I certainly agree.. I was a fan but I started losing interest after the mid part of shippunden (Although I’m not sure where is the mid part of shippunden since it’s still not finish)… Dragging the story to the point of sacrificing it’s quality is really dangerous…
I agree too…somehow I feel bored on just looking at naruto…>.<
yeh true im having trouble keeping up. But at least the original naruto should be here (Its always split up in rating lists as naruto and naruto shuppuden are seen as diffrent) true the shuppuden is geting so predictable, the only hope they have is giving the thing a good ending. if they screw that up naruto’s gonna lose nearly all its fans.
Rave should be on the list cuz its a very touching manga!!!
coz ur way of thinking is stupid
Don’t you ever call me a wierdo after this, i’m described as mysterious, but i prefer thet you don’t call me anything bad.
nah, you’re just someone saying what you believe. nothing wrong with that.
http://www.google.com/trends?q=one+piece%2C+naruto%2C ——naruto is best
now the funny thing about that is, that right now One Piece just beat Dragonball on the sales charts, meaning it is now the best selling manga EVER. Naruto however, is only #5. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/OniTasku/1242468937829.jpg
oh no where is doramon !!!
Dragonball I’ll give thumbs up, for being in the top 3. But everything else is just a pure mess, I mean WTF haha.
Ashita no Joe at 35??
Berserk at 25!?!
Hokuto No Ken at 23???!
Just how does gay emo manga that is waay over rated like ‘Death Note’ topple them at 10 spot?
Hajime No Ippo, Grappler Baki, Bleach, Saint Seiya, Claymore, even Rurouni Kenshin deserve to be in that list somewhere.
& what the hell is with Special A on demand? Put those damn gay hair straightners away and start watching some violent manly stuff lol.
I’m with you on this one buddy!! Ultra violent manga with superb storylines FTW lol!
I don’t know why some of those titles mentioned aren’t on the list.
Guess the list is from 2007 so it’s broken to hell by now.
Plus it’s going to be a kiddies top list as time goes by as us anime/manga veterans grow old and frail lol, hell Naruto is prob no1 now I bet.
I love those old skool uber violent classic manga’s see my other post but i did think deathnote was very good.
I would reccomend Ares, but Dead Note isnt gay is awesome…
http://www.google.com/trends?q=one+piece%2C+naruto%2C naruto is best
keep on dreaming
naruto have got top vote in shounen jump for 2 month and naruto has famous for few year i think naruto will go higher in japan new gerneration
it just means it’s popular. with all those actions, it will be voted top in stuff like shounen jump. Kids like action with no thinking. But, when it comes to the best manga, there’s noway naruto can make it with simple and naive storylines that don’t even make logical sense. It can fool kids, but not adults. A dum hot-headed kid with no talent owning everyone just because he doesn’t give up, bullsh*t
Well, whatever you say, kids. Time is the greatest judge of all. Tezuka Osamu’s and Fujio Fujiko’s works are still remembered more than a decade after their respective author’s death. Let’s see if Naruto will stand the test of time.
And God Hand, calling others “gay” and “emo” doesn’t make you manly or mature for that matter. I never watched Death Note myself, but I know people who do, people who know what good stories are, I might add.
And just because an anime is violent doesn’t mean it’s good. Berserk isn’t good because it is violent. It’s good because the story has depth. It always ask questions about moral ambiguity. And most characters, even villains, are sympathetic. The portrayal of fictional Medieval Europe is good, as well. The same can be said for Saint Seiya and its research into Greek mythology.
Hajime No Ippo and Grappler Baki, on the other hand, though violent, are never good. Both stories drag on and on. Heck, I’ve read Hajime No Ippo for A DECADE now and I find almost nothing new. It’s just more and more fight with no end in sight. If the author doesn’t choose episode ONE THOUSAND as a good number to finish it, then it could go on forever. The same for Baki and its meaningless violence.
Seriously, after Dragon Ball ended, do we need more animes that feature repetitive plot, only with new and more powerful enemies? I don’t think so. Dragon Ball was special because it was the first anime of such length. And it should be the last as well.
Sigh, perhaps I’m too old, and have watch too many classic works, to appreciate today’s animes.
Good show but I mostly disagree on your views to Hajime No Ippo and Grappler Baki.
Though to some those titles may seem like pure ‘head bashing’ ultra violent reading, giving it the blind eye without some real thought.
Are you into martial arts or any type of combat sports?? The answer to this alone will give me good insight to your opinion.
I myself study martial arts. In Baki the moves, theories and concepts behinds each fight and move tells a story in itself. A history of martial arts dating back thousands of years VS the modern methods of today in Baki makes interesting reading for me.
Baki to me is theory combat reading in Manga form, which makes for very useful, interesting, and hell very entertaining reading.
Although the general story may be soo cliché (without giving too much away) to simply put it in one sentence… Baki wants to become stronger than his father and have vengeance.
However he’s not getting strong by entering some mystical cave where he’s granted special powers by saving the princes.
No this guy is actually going out into the real world, participating in high level (and very realistic to a high degree) street combat and tournaments, while having to deal with bullying, poverty, prison and so much more to mention, to gain the strength and experience towards achieving his goals.
Seriously this type of reading suits me and thousands of others quite nicely, and is lovely enough to be easily in my top 5 Manga of all time lol.
Did you not find Hajime No Ippo enjoyable to read for its humor at least??
Again Ippo I enjoy for its (not so ‘meaningless violence’) different boxing styles based on real life boxers. Not random bashing Shounen, but actual life battle situations being dealt with.
I could read a martial arts magazine instead, but again (like Baki) having a Manga series laid out to my interests makes Ippo Manga for immensely enjoyable reading instead.
For me the story is fantastic for Ippo, what’s there to drag about it?? How are you still finding the interest to be reading Ippo for a DECADE?
Do you think a boxer becomes a World Champion in 8 Manga volumes, or in 1 year in the real world coming out of nowhere from a domestic level???
Having a Shounen boxing Manga on an almost a real time scale is what makes this brilliant. Unless you’ve followed a boxer’s life from beginning to the end of their career I don’t think you fully appreciate Hajime No Ippo the way it is. To add with the slightly odd touch of romance, great humor and character relationships this really does make great for Manga reading.
Anyways that’s just my personal pointers to why Baki and Ippo are more than just ‘meaningless violent’ Manga’s.
Although it seems violence alone is good enough for some, kudos to them lol.
Thank nature or whatever form of divine intervention that humans are soo diverse that there’s all sorts of Manga’s to be read out there lol :p
I commend the post by the person above me. All about combat, strategy and the way martial arts, and combat itself occur are taken very seriously, even if the prize at stake is nothing else but life in a daily fashion. As for Baki, let’s just remember simple things as the analogy between the wardens Lips, Teeth, and Tongue, their functions in the human body and the strategy they tend to follow at an oponnent sure is to be taken seriously.
I won’t take this list seriously if it is made with a bunch of shojo, shonen and a sprinkle of seinen manga. Whenever they get serious about content and not just sales, then, maybe they will give a glance to Shamo. ‘Raaaage’ should give it (or maybe has given it) a read. Might as well love it.
wow onepiece can beat dragonbal in japan
but dragonball alway classic all time
yep. after all One Piece wouldn’t exist without Dragonball.
I agree.. Dragonball was a hit classic and it has a brilliant ending.. Unlike most anime these latest months and years which were often ended ‘hanging’.. I just hope One Piece would have a spectacular ending, I’m keeping up with it’s manga and it’s getting really exciting! ^ _ ^
Dragonball is the best!
Can anyone tell me what this manga entitled Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is about?.. Why ia it on top 2? Call me lame but I honestly haven’t heard of it yet..
Slamdunk is great manga but I don’t believe it deserves the top spot.. Hello! where are all the other manga?.. Flame of Recca, Saiyuki, and Special A weren’t even included.. And what about BLEACH?!?0_0
jeeze, will the narutards calm down. im so sick of “naruto should be number 1″ and “how come naruto isnt in the top 3?” this list has manga that people (who read more than just naruto and bleach) think are worth paying the 10 bucks for at a bookstore for. somethings i dont completly agree with but i would never (as a manga addict) want to see a list where a stock series like naruto is above brilliance like hellsing, yotsuba, mushishi, fma ect. (id like to see zetsubo sensei but its fallowing hasnt grown enough yet) if your a naruto/bleach fan boy/girl who is going to flame this, read a a volume of something like death note or something first, perhaps you’ll change your mind -.-
You know I used to hate the thought of even wanting to read a volume of Naruto, but through time I’ve suddenley grown to liking it! I’m doomed!! Is there any Naruto exorcism services about these days? :P
um, ok, wow. Monster and Beserk have been beaten out by Death Note and..Doraemon? Seriously? For one, death note is like the equivalent of an adapted-for-tweens Monster, with all of its bishies and super special magical books that can kill people. But hey, I can’t complain. At least Monster is on the list in the first place :P
are you non-asian or younger than 25? Doraemon is like disney of asia, a classic that has its own brand name. A limited edition doraemon watch is more expensive than a rolex, that’s how amazing doraemon is. No asian born in the generation of doraemon will disagree on its standing, will only think it should be higher.
I’m more of an anime addict than a manga buff but anyway, here’s my take on this list.
I was actually surprised to see slamdunk as number 1 in this list (peace to SLAMDUNK fanatics). I do like slamdunk, i’ve finished reading the manga, finished watching tha anime and even the movies. Nothing wrong with the sport concept as well, I’m actually playing basketball myself. But to make it #1 is a bit too much for me. To think that it’s even more popular than DRAGONBALL is a surprise. My grandma who hardly even watch television even knows of Sang Goku (as she would mention it). But well it’s interesting to see that many people think otherwise. :D I was a bit surprised as well to see that Jojo’s bizarre adventure is even more popular that Dragon ball. I know that both are classic masterpieces but really now. My non-anime-fan friends don’t even know of jojo but they sure know goku.
I enjoyed Special A as well but I somehow understand why it’s not included in the list. The plot is somehow reminiscent of other school life/comedy anime/manga. I personally would have voted Ouran High School Host Club instead.
Regarding Naruto, I was hoping that it could have at least make the cut. I was a bit sad to read the comments saying naruto as being too predictable in tons of parts and that the story being a drag. Maybe I would have agreed on the anime version (reason: 1 season being dedicated to fillers is lame for me). But the manga? I don’t think so. It’s actually one those manga that I look forward to, every chapters, every plot development. I’ve been craving for new chapters again and again. Naruto as having crazy stuffs? what’s wrong with that? A pirate with rubber like body, people with ghostly like, human shaped power manifestations (stand) and seven magic balls which when put together can summon the dragon god shenron and can grant anybody’s wish even giving back people’s lives, aren’t those as crazy, if not crazier stuffs? And besides, those ‘crazy stuffs’ are what makes it as ‘unpredictable’ and ‘enjoyable’ as any other mangas out there. Maybe it’s popularity is not that booming in japan, but elsewhere? I think it should at least be in the top 50.
Deathnote is gay?! That’s propably one of the most unreasonable/biased/immature comment I have read for a long time. I’ve come across a lot of anime/manga fanatics and never did I ever receive comments like that pertaining to deathnote. The concept, character design, story twists and plot brilliance makes it worth your time. Add to that are the metal opening/closing themes of the anime version makes more than gay at least to a regular person’s standard.
Some of the manga, I’m not familiar with. Others, I’ve only seen the anime version like yuyu hakusho and hunter X hunter. But overall, manga (+anime) are of different genres and concepts to cater to different public tastes. At least we get to witness the ever evolving japanese manga/anime culture.
i think that bleach should at leat be with in 40-50 becausr it was pretty good. and why is speical A not their
WHY IS CLAYMORE NOT ON THERE! THAT IS THE FIRST AND BEST CLAYMORE EVER MADE. I HAVE READ SOOO MANY MORE MANGA AND CLAYMORE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST. I DO LIKE ANIMA TOO. IT WAS CUTE!
WHOOPS i MENT TO PUT BEST MANGA, NOT CLAYMORE. TEHE
I understand the frustration of Naruto, Bleach, Special A fans. But, seriously, get use to it not being on there. Time will change it eventually. I mean, it still remember dragonball in like, I don’t know, 1999? I was small back then, I didn’t even care bout the year, so…around that time? And I still remember this anime, about a boy who nearly lost his mother’s restaurant have an ability to remember how to cook food once he taste it. Even my mum remembers it, should I complain about it not being there? No, I know I shouldn’t because
1. The author stop writing it
2. Nearly all manga online site don’t even have it
3. Obviously, it’s not popular.
But, have you seen Black Jack? A doctor, in a world of weird cases and disease. And Death Note, even though my mother HATES Japanese people, she likes the idea. How it is so realistic (sorta in a way) and how it portray the world.
I for one is a bit surprise that Bleach isn’t on. but it’s not classic… all the anime were once gentle, full of blooming love and now, it’s all fight fight fight. Bleach, Naruto, and some others.
I love how they don’t have Naruto up here… Quite frankly, I don’t believe should be ranked in the top 50 because if the quality of a manga does not grow as it progresses in time, well let’s just say that it should be put down with dignity. I will admit I was a Naruto fan at one point, it had a good enough story and we know everyone loves ninjas. However, I grew bored of it ever since the Nagato arc. For some reason I find that it moves extraordinarily slow and now Masashi’s just pulling plots from a ridiculously cliche book. It’s highly predictable and none of the chapters seem to contribute to be building upon each other, it’s disorganized.
Now Bleach is a force to be reckoned with. Although it is a GOOD manga, no a great manga, it’s not much different from its predecessor who invented the syndrome for the “ultimate” main character, Dragon Ball. Being a “naturally” powerful character who ends up learning every power that was introduced to him. And because of this, it seems to tone down Ichigo’s struggle that people like to see in a lot of charcter fights. Sure that uber power that he just recently earned is cool at first, but there’s no kick to it. It’d be more interesting if Ichigo found a “cunning” way to fight Aizo with his old powers instead of the brute and raw power he has now.
I believe what they were looking for were originality, depth, and perception of themes. Where they might have lacked in one areas, they made up in another. How they presented those things such as in art and pacing probably contributed to the placing as well. Everyone has to remember they are picking from hundreds and hundreds of manga. They pick the ones that stand apart from the rest.
i know right?
1. This crap shouldn’t be posted as simply top 50 manga of Japan, the author should’ve put in the damn effort! THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY TYPES OF MANGA!
2.. As much as I LOVE speical a, it really isn’t a ground-breaking different manga/anime from other shoujo-school-lifes.
3. Naruto, I quit Naruto after a while, the whole cliche I’m gonna be strong and get revenge or I’ve been bullied! I like it and all, ninjas and stuff, but seriously the character, Naruto is annoying and Sasuke is hot, but needs therapy!
4. Bleach, not the best art sometimes, the base storyline is predictable, basically get stronger and take down the big boss.
5.. Death Note is a good starter to dark mysterious manga, but IT IS A TAD BIT OVERATED.
6. WTF?! If this is classics, dragonball should be higher than slam dunk(what is that?), but I suppose this is Japan. People, namely me at least have grown up on dragonball, and what about pokemon.( Although pokemon anime is simply horrible now, that annoying dawn! And Ash never ages…)
7. There should be different genre, shounen, shoujo, mystery, ecchi, yaoi, etc or age groups!
8. I could do a better job, and I’m only freakin 13!
you are 13 so buzz off

I’m not angry, just a little disappointed
There is Urusei Yatsura by Rumiko Takahashi
it’s humliating that the manga that i like isn’t on board..\(“3″)/
you are humiliating :)
can you ppl stop whining about why is my fave manga not included? this is the fact fags. the japanese ppl have more level of thinking than u ppl who prefer the typical ninja, and stupid romance. why is it not included becoz the damn classics and oldies are way better! and the new animes included there are the best.
oh poor you,,you don’t have the knowledge of people hating your favorite cartoon! i can’t say it’s anime coz naruto is a shame of all anime =]
i think Naruto and bleach are pretty chill, but i totally understand why they arent on that list (due to the lack of creativity after awhile). One Piece has great art and the landscapes and new worlds are always fun to see, but the enemies never cut it for me that much (especially when they adopt animal characteristics, but whatever). i’ve kinda isolated myself around those 3 manga for most of my life, but i’ve started reading manga like sekirei, history’s strongest disciple, and tenjou tenge and i’ve become a lot more enthralled by other stories, especially more comedic, romantic ones (proving to have a better storyline), but also hold fast to that action/adventure genre and have a character with growing potential (but who can lose once in awhile so its not dumb -__-). i dont know, thats how i feel, and i’ll probably take a couple of these manga and check them out.
I think that instead of talking about the mangas that are not here we should instead discuss about the mangas that are there. People like me who have been reading manga for only for a short time need something more than just Naruto or Bleach. I can’t survive on these alone and want something more. Just hope you all will help me by discussing more about the good ones in the above list.

science your all so picky just go to this link and vote for yourself!! and if you want a certain manga to win get the word out
nobody; just as your name suggest you are not a very notable person are you
The user “Nobody” is a troll, haha.
I personally liked Death Note a lot, because it presented the ethical dilemnas quite well, and was more sophisticated. It had real plot, and you had to think about it. Barely any loose ends, but it was such a thriller for the first half, that I thought it was the best manga ever. The second half, (after L died) suddenly became much worse, and I didn’t care for it as much, but the theme of it, the nice art, and powerful 1st half make it an excellent manga, definitely top 10.
I went through this list to find good mangas. I know that some people won’t like me for saying this, but Dragon Ball is pretty boring to me. I watched a few episodes on Toonami (if you even remember it several years ago) and it did not seem so iconic. This is possibly because other mangas I HAVE read copied it, and going back to the origin of these mangas after reading others makes the original less interesting. I hope you get what I mean.
I read Parasyte, and it was a solid manga. Not going to lie, I am a guy that is less interested in romance or relationship mangas. So I was glad with this list.
Black Jack is really nice, but I got bored after 30 chapters. I don’t think that it deserves to be on the list. Someone please explain to me why it deserves this spot. It’s a super smart, super fast doctor obsessed with money but also not always obsessed dealing with very interesting medical cases, but what sucks is that there is no link from chapter to chapter. It’s just BOOM new chapter, new case, old characters don’t exist or don’t matter, YAY story solved, next chapter. The mangaka is lazy as fuck, and can’t even draw women or unique characters. After chapter 50, literally, the same burned teacher, rich ramen woman, beautiful movie star ALL LOOK THE EXACT SAME! As do other characters. It’s predictable, odd at times, and honestly not that great.
People, stop bawwwwing about Naruto and Bleach. Also, LOL that people think Bleach is better than Naruto. I don’t know about you, but Kubo Tite is a troll who can’t draw backgrounds and ruined a manga that could have been epic had he hired a guy to actually WRITE a good story. He’s an excellent artist who makes lovable characters and knows how to draw cool characters, fan service, etc, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Naruto in terms of plot. That being said, at this moment, Bleach just finished a giant (but boring as FUCK) war and is better than naruto which just got into a giant, even more gay war.
Bleach has cool design, and is on the upswing, but doesn’t deserve to be on the list.
Naruto was excellent before shippuden, the initial part of shippuden was good, some battles were excellent, but now in the war arc, we have too many fucking characters, and the wars on a scale of 10K+ ninjas makes no fucking sense in a manga dedicated so much more towards small skirmishes. O hay, kakuzu, itachi, nagato and Dan are back… 10 chapters later, nothing. o hay, 7 swordsmen of the mist, all show us ONE ability, theyre at least given one chapter. Anyway, this manga is complete crap, and any Japanese guy should be embarassed that its one of the frontrunner mangas, which by deifnition are a big part of Japan.
I just finished Nausicaa, and it had a nice idea. It was kinda disjointed at parts, where I’m just thinking “what the fuck is going on, which character is which” but I like those more sciencey mangas, and the pro nature theme like Parasyte was nice. I don’t know what to make of it, but looking at some of the crap mangas I have seen, this is decent.
Jojo’s bizarre adventure just looked like a bunch of bullshit to me, can’t believe its number 2. Are the only people that like it pp like Raaaage, over-pubescent japanese kids, and just dumb guys? I found it tiring to have all major characters be fucking ripped as tits and have calves bigger than most peoples fucking BODIES. Jojo is annoying as hell, and it didn’t seem groundbreaking (I read the ark with Santana, Lars, ACDC ,Cars) It was complete bullcrap and I felt ashamed after I finished.
Jojo: “But Jojo, you aren’t able to dodge my plasma volts of whale vagina”
Generic Villain who is retarded as fuck: “But Jojo…” (thinks “oh TITS he outpredicted me)
That makes NOOOOOO sense, what the fuck???
One thing I WILL give to the manga is that I loved it when Jojo said “But my two most hated phrases are hard work and work hard!”
I LOLD for 10 minutes straight. I guess I’m just tired of random buff guys with an aptitude to learn shit super quickly ending up becoming super powerful (ripple, chakra, reitsu, kai, what the fuckstopcopyingfromothers, etf) and being super retarded, like Naruto, ichigo, this guy, Goku, other fags.
Hajime no Ippo not being on this list is just laughable. There is a lot of depth to that manga, and NO manga runs for a decade, this one is special. It’s not crap like prince of tennis which has nothing to do with tennis, but this is quite realistic. Very humorous, and the only people out of my friends who don’t like it, are go figure, Girls that prefer fruit basket or guys who want to read about some guy with 4 eternal mangekyo sharingans and 3 fullbrings coming out of his extremely massive, extendable monset cock.
I don’t know the purpose of this message, just my thoughts.
Soul Eater is never mentioned in any lists, I think it is AWESOME D: really, SE is just as epic as most of those.
I not dissin’ slam dunk but why it first?stuff like dragon ball and one piece and death note deserve the top spot.
