Top 100 anime of Japan

TV Asahi has recently published a list of Japan’s top 100 favorite anime, which was created by an open poll on the station’s website. The list varies quite a bit with last year’s; most notably the exclusion or descend of some cult classics. The top 10 contains more recent series than last year.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is up considerably this year and thats likely because of the rebirth of the series. I cant really say we’ve watched all but 30+ of the listed titles, Velcor has probably watched most of it. This could become a nice Otaku challenge just like watching the top 100 films on IMDB. How many have you watched? Tell us in the comments.

If you want to know when an updated top anime list is published as well as tons of other anime news and wacky stuff from japan be sure to subscribe to our site! It’s free and easy!
