Tokyopop Publishes New Starcraft Manga
Tuesday 16 September 2008 @ 12:30 pm | By Quiche Comment now!In this new online manga, a team of artists and writers have decided to tackle the popular Starcraft mythos and put it into comic-book form for the first time (if I’m not mistaken). As of now there are four chapters up on the Tokyopop web site, each with varying degrees of pages available to view. The full graphic novel weighs in at 192 pages and retails for $10.99 US.
Fans will be pleased to hear that the manga follows the plot of the game quite faithfully, quotes the in-game units (“jacked-up and good to go, sir!”), and has some high-caliber art. Especially impressive are the Zerg, full of slimy, spiny detail and seething menace, just like you imagined them to be behind their primitive 90’s sprites in Brood Wars.
