Breaking news, the female otaku (or fujoshi as they are sometimes called) market is getting bigger than the male otaku market! Housewives or not, fujoshi are a cultural phenomenon unto themselves. From Butler Cafes (like maid cafes) to cosplay nightclubs to yaoi doujinshi, its overwhelming. Here’s a two part documentary on Fujosji and Otome road, which is the equivalent of Akihabara.
Why doesn’t someone match them with male otaku? Easy money, I’m moving to Japan.

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me what program this aired on and the date, if you know it?
Thanks!
Is there more to the interview? It was really awesome to see all those shops in Japan.
The reason why they aren’t paired up with male otaku/maniacs is because male otaku disgust them with their poor hygiene and often fairly perverted interest in underage girls. Not that they don’t mind making cash off them by working part-time in a moe maid cafe though…
