The First Decade Of Maid Cafes In Book Format

It seems its already been 10 years since the first maid cafe, Cure Maid, opened its doors to the public. So in commemoration of the first decade of maid cafes a group of Japanese journalists have released a book, chronicling the history of maid cafes from the very first one to the most popular one. The book also contains interviews with some of Japan’s most famous maids which hold quite a bit of superstar power. The book is priced at 1365 yen (about $15 USD), at that price it seems like a steal. Too bad importing it would be too much of a hassle!

I am both saddened and pleased that we do not have Maid Cafe’s here in the ’states. On one hand they could do quite well in certain locales, and on the other its America so we’d most likely exploit the hell out of it and turn it into a Japanese Hooters. So in light of it all I am glad that we don’t have them here.
Wouldn’t mind scopin’ out the book though. :3
Funny, Japan does have a Hooters, and if there were a Neko Maid Cafe. I’m pretty sure I would become a regular.
It seems that in America nerdidom is frowned upon, but in Japan they embrace it.
I always wonder how many of these girls actually like their maid jobs…
They’re justing doing it to pay their way through school.
Oh.. Yeah… I don’t think that I could stomach going to one of these knowing that the maids hate it xD
