Super Nekketsu high school Kunio-kun dodgeball club

Another Japanese game with a title that manages to squeeze in every letter of the alphabet with a 7 word minimum. I can’t be bothered to keep typing and or copy and pasting the title ’Super Nekketsu high school Kunio-kun dodgeball club’, I’m going to refer to this game as Dogdeball DS.
Dodgeball DS is a sequel to the original ‘Super Dodgeball’ which released on the NES in 1988. Back then it was a simple 2 on 2 affair, with the aim of the game being to pelt the opposition in the face with a big ol’ dodgeball until their health hit zero and they were KO’d. The same goes for the DS version, except the action has been ramped up a few notches: More players on the field, power up’s, charge shots and the ability to run up to a random player and smack ‘em in the face. Seems fun! Though it seems there is a loose emphasis on the dodgeball itself. Every screenshot of the game has players duking it out on the playing field whilst the ball just rolls around on the floor. There’s no word on a release outside of Japan (story of our lives), but hopefully it will at the very least get a North American release. The original NES version was treated to such, so hopefully the DS version will be too.
This looks to be just the kind of game I need right now. Some quick, pick up and play action. The game will support up to 8 players over a Wi-Fi connection, but there’s no confirmation if the game will be playable online. Check out the screenshots via the link below.

Don’t forget that it’s made by Arc System Works (aka, the creators of guilty gear). So expect some INSANE animation!
I’m so hyped. To get your fill, all you gotta do is playing Advance Dodgeball or whatever the heck it was called on the GBA. Almost identical to the old dodgeball game, only with all female characters (each of which are drawn by completely different anime artists)
I doubt we’ll be getting Guilty Gear style animation as the character style looks identical to the NES game. But could you imagine a volleyball game with Guilty gear style graphics and animation!! *starts dribbling*
Was the GBA dodgeball game any good? And how about that all female cast one? :P
