Gamasutra reports that an estimate from five different analysts concludes that Sony’s third quarter profits could see a 50% drop from slow sales of the PS3. The culprit? Not the Xbox 360, thats for sure. These analysts blame the “unexpected” success of the Wii for Sony’s losses. Gee, while the success of the Wii has been above some expectations, anyone who was up to date with the industry and the gamers leading to the launch could see that the Wii was going to be big. It goes to show how well informed some of these analysts are.
