While the game’s plot is a bit unclear right now, it’s been revealed that Eggman captures sonic and turns him into a “werehog” (perhaps he’s being experimented on in this now-famous and heavily macro’d image?). Turns out Sonic will assume this alternate form at nightfall, and gains (as well as loses) some abilities.

As the “Werehog,” Sonic is slower, but is much stronger and has Dhalsim-esque (or Ristar-like, depending on your preference) arms. In this form you’ll be breaking doors, climbing, and using your elongated limbs to save your from near-death falls. The mechanic seems a bit unnecessary in a game that wants to focus on speed and simplicity (as are those that have plagued every Sonic game from Adventure onwards) but there’s always hope that this will be the one (that doesn’t suck).

Ugh… you do not slow down Sonic. Why on earth would you slow down Sonic, Sonic Team? This will be the tip to crap-ville unless Sonic Team can pull a miracle for once.

Sega shouldn’t even attempt having Sonic play as any other creature when they can barely get his shit right when he’s in normal form.

Speed, motherfucker, speed. Thats why I play sonic.
If I wanted to play as someone with high attack points I would just whip out Soulcalibur and use Astaroth.

Also, Sonic’s invisible blowjob is invisible.

It seems like every Sonic announcement gets the same response: “Don’t they LISTEN to the FANS?”
But if you think about it, we’re not really the fans that Sonic Team would be listeing to, as long as the Japanese press and public likes their games they’ll keep on going down the same road.

I noticed that the woeful Sonic ‘06 got 7s and 8s in Famitsu, so is it just that the recent Sonic games have moved away from Western tastes while keeping the Japanese audience on board?
