Soapbox Saturday: Halo The Animated Miniseries
Saturday 25 July 2009 @ 5:00 am | By Sol 11 CommentsWhen I first got my original Xbox and began to play the original Halo, it was mesmerizing. I remember playing with friends for hours, replaying old missions for secrets. We even created a drinking game called Balo= Beer + Halo. It was epic. The game kept me from sleeping, eating, and allowed me to ignore the outside world. As the series became more popular, my anticipation for HALO 2 grew to unattainable heights. I was let down. The 3rd Halo helped to keep me in the fold, but still to this day I hold the original in high regard. Weaved into the storyline was the genesis of a saga; the music emotive, and the action unprecedented.
Fanfiction, Red vs Blue, novellas, a possible(then cancelled) feature film and now an anime series. This trailer features several highly notable productions house’s take on Halo. The grit of war, the loss of love, and the perseverance of the human spirit. Depending on the studio I am excited to see more of what’s to come, but I’ll let you judge for yourself. Without further ado I present: Halo

This is probably the first time i’ve EVER been excited for something Halo related to come out. Some of the shorts look decent, but there’s others that just look fantastic.

Though it came with mixed results, I loved the Hollywood and Japan cooperations that brought forth The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight. Now that it’s Halo’s turn, I’m just as excited.
Even more Arousing
Can’t say I’m a fan of turning EVERYTHING into Anime, but being a Halo fan and seeing the quality the project exhibits I can’t help being excited.
hey .. better anime than american animation…
at least we know its gonna look decent if not good… even if the script might suck xD
This looks like it may be good, I mean Bones ? Where has bones ever gone wrong before ?
i too loved the first installment… but after that it didnt keep my interest as much as i would have liked it to…
the anime looks promising… EXCEPT for the mix of traditional animation ant 3d models… it is rarely done right…
in this short i saw a spartan (master chief?) in both cell and 3d model.. and they looked too different… when they do that i feel its as a glitch of visual continuity…
and it just feels wrong..
So essentially, we have another Animatrix, this time, with a HALO theme, right?
yep. that’s exactly what it is. First the Matrix, then Batman, and now Halo.
They usually turn out to be a mixed bag. But so far, this one looks to have the most potential.
