Chang Hong Television Group (Taiwan) and Shanghai Film and Television Group (China) will start the production of a Live Action version of Slam Dunk. I by any chance you don’t know this anime, it’s one of the most representative sports anime series out there (next to legendary Ashita no Joe and the over-dramatic Captain Tsubasa).
Looks like the budget for this movie will be $10 million and it’s said that it’s to be the most expensive Taiwanese-Chinese co-production ever made in Taiwan.
Among the people involved, Tony Ching Siu Tung (The House of Daggers) will be the action director for the movie. Expect slam dunks starting from the other side of the court and some 13ft.-high jumping!
