Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour: 16 Identical Songs
Sunday 14 September 2008 @ 8:17 pm | By Quiche 3 CommentsWhile we’ve all seen a few songs replicated across several rhythm games in the past like Jet’s “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” and Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” I think this is the first time that two games in the genre have shared so many songs between them. And of course, these eyesores are made all the more glaring by their close release dates and obvious competitive aims. The full list is after the cut.
- “The Kill” – 30 Seconds to Mars
- “Ramblin’ Man” – The Allman Brothers Band
- “One Way or Another” – Blondie
- “Livin’ on a Prayer ” – Bon Jovi
- “Feel the Pain” – Dinosaur Jr.
- “Go Your Own Way” – Fleetwood Mac
- “Everlong” – Foo Fighters
- “American Woman” – The Guess Who
- “Mountain Song” – Jane’s Addiction
- “The Middle” – Jimmy Eat World
- “Our Truth” – Lacuna Coil
- “Float On” – Modest Mouse
- “Lazy Eye” – Silversun Pickups
- “Today” – Smashing Pumpkins
- “B.Y.O.B.” – System of a Down
- “Monsoon” – Tokio Hotel

Annoying for the people who are getting both (due to exclusitivity of certain songs/bands) and how they’ll play on each version. Argh.
Hopefully my Wii version of RB2 will not be gimped. Glad to know it is coming out this year though!
Toss in Rock Revolution, and there’s even MORE looped tracks. Though i’ll admit, at least RR picked the same bands, but took different songs.
Yeah, Foo Fighters Everlong is wicked and all, but do they NOT have like 1000000 cds? You’re telling me there wasn’t a single OTHER song they could pick? Just like Bon Jovi.
