So the little white box that couldn’t still has some tricks up its sleeves!! I am thoroughly impressed by the graphics. Slick, stylized and sharp. Just goes to show some hot art direction can go a long way. Most of Wii’s best and standout looking games have been ones which chose to do away with photo realism and focus more on the art style. This seems to be where Wii shines. Because let’s face it – the 360 and PS3 will always kill the system when it comes to photo realism and life like graphical styles.

I just hope that the graphics don’t take a dive when it’s made available in playable form. Because the first game looked incredible when shots first leaked. (You guys remember that hot shot in the pachinko parlor with particle effects and real time lighting right?) Then the main game came out, and well…we all know the rest. Fingers crossed for some blood too. Lots of it. Spraying all over the place. Removable limbs would be nice too. Ubisoft need to run this game head first into plus 18+ territory! Throw in some titties in too. From Dusk till dawn styleee baby, yeeeaah!!!

It’s cool that Ubisoft have re-booted the games’ setting, along with the main man. A katana and pistol wielding cowboy can do no wrong as a hero in my eyes. The only thing that can taint this guy’s coolness is if he has a God awful voice and a terrible name. I just hope they steer from the stereotypes. No Julio’s, Miguel’s or Mr. Hernandez’s, or a Spanish or Portuguese name for a gun or a piece of food.

Red steel 2 is looking very cool. Very cool indeed. This game has the potential to be something really good. Ubisoft had best not mess this up. It’s one of the only games that’s been revealed for Wii in the past few months that I’ve actually taken an interest in.
