Prince of Persia Movie a reality?

It seems old rumors of a Prince of Persia movie by Jerry Bruckheimer have resurfaced. Some sources are even saying that it could be out for 2008. Disney is apparently looking to use the Prince of Persia franchise to fill in the gap that will be left when Pirates of the Caribbean ends this year.

There are no further details out there but that 2008 date means that the movie must be in production already or about to start. The movie apparently wont be at all faithful to the games, they will just take the concept world of the series to establish it own story.

A quick visit to the scriptwriter’s website tells us that the sentiment around the movie was to bring in an unnamed Persian actor to play the role of the prince. But they might as well go ahead and use Johnny Depp, they are sending the story to hell so they might as well go the extra mile.
