Bemoaning the lack of a hard drive on your favorite little white box? As you can see in the video above its not only possible but has already been done! The HDD allows the Wii to store dozens of games and put them just a click away. No, this is no hack for the Wii, sadly. This is an officially modified Wii made for the Nintendo World Store. You know, so the clerks dont have to be changing disks every 5 minutes.
On the good side, if Nintendo’s engineers with full access to the Wii’s source and official tools code do it, so can moders right? Right?

we can only hope ;_;
This is lame.
With all this talk about piracy I think there are those “hackers” that make things/ software for convenience. The main reason I modded my xbox with a larger HD and new cables was to that it became faster and I didn’t have to lug around a backpack full of games for lan-parties.
With the Wii I am having this same experience and wanting a solution. This shows it is clearly possible and done for the same aforementioned reasons. If Nintendo doesn’t provide some sort of solution others will be found and produced.
Edging on the line of piracy if an official product is made BEFORE a pirate makes one then I think Nintendo come out on top, but if I am forced to sneak around to find this information, already feeling like a pirate, then what stops me from “demoing” a game from Blockbuster and ripping it to my HD?
I have high ethical standards though, so IP Czar you need not look at me.
