Nintendo of Japan has unveiled a small box-shaped accessory for the Wii that is, unfortunately, not a hard drive. It’s a wireless router designed to streamline the process of getting your Wii and Nintendo DS online. It costs ¥5,800 (Something like $58 US), and can either be connected to another router to act as a mediator for your Wii/DS, or plugged directly into a cable modem. It has a switch to change between full-on router mode, and wireless bridge mode, broadcasts in Wireless-B/G standard, as per the Wii’s standards, and includes one LAN port, presumably for the Wii LAN Adapter. Unfortunately, no word yet on a US release.

Unfortunately? I guess you could say that. The wi-fi USB dongle has been out for the Wii for those that don’t want to buy a Wi-Fi router. Also, I think there’s a LAN cable adapter dongle for the Wii, though I might be mistaken.
I just don’t really understand the main use of this hardware. Agree with Enner, this stuff has been availible for sometime now. Why create a seperate peice to clutter the room, how ever if it connect to a HD, that would be a reason to buy.
