New Persona 4 Videos Emerge
Thursday 12 June 2008 @ 8:01 am | By Chris 'Taco' Martinkovic 1 CommentNew footage from Atlus’ upcoming Shin Megami Tensei spin-off Persona 4 has emerged. One trailer is basically a previous trailer with some added text, while another focuses heavily on in-game shots such as setting and combat. Both feature a song very reminiscent of older Shin Megami Tensei titles.
This trailer finally gives us a glimpse into the game’s battle system and social interaction. Dialogue cutscenes aside, the battles look more refined than Persona 3’s. Characters can now help others up rather than relying on a skill like Re Patra, and panic can apparently be cured by a slap to the face. Let’s hope that Charm can be cured in the same way. It’s still unknown as to whether or not you will be able to control your entire party or just the protagonist.
All-Out Attacks are back and look even better. Physical skills look like they’re more character specific (Like a punt into the sky) rather than Persona-based. Glasses rather than guns are the items for Persona summoning this time around, so hopefully the game won’t suffer from as many “emo” jokes as its predecessor.
Details of the plot are still under wraps. The game’s set to come out in Japan in a little under a month (July 10th), and a North American release is all but guaranteed after how well Persona 3 and P3:FES did.
