Here we go again. First Nintendo gets shot at by a patent troll for the Gamecube and Classic controllers, and now a patent company is hitting up Sony for some cash. According to Kotaku, Orinda Intellectual Properties USA filed suit on August 20th against Sony for the PS3’s Blu-Ray drive, claiming that it violated their patent relating to "storing data on a disc". Well hell, why don’t they just go sue everyone who uses CD burners?
The trolls are not only asking for a handsome royalty, but also want all sales of Blu-Ray players in the US to stop. Taking bets on how long it takes a judge to toss this one out.

Flipin’ Mel. Please fix the US patent/copyright system already. This is ridiculous.
