More On The Dragon Ball Movie Cast, When Will The Madness End?

The turmoil in my heart continues as more details regarding the Dragon Ball live action movie cast appear. First of all we receive official confirmation that Bulma will not be played by Camila Sodi, as rumors had led us to believe. Instead she will be played by Emmy Rossum who, while having a much more impressive curriculum, including Poseidon, The Phantom of the Opera, The Day After Tomorrow and Mystic River, does not resemble Bulma at all. Nice looking talented gal, but she cannot compare to the visual treat and resemblance that Camila Sodi did.
Next up is the puzzling news that Eriko Tamura, of Heroes fame, will play Mai. While I cant but completely agree with that choice as Miss Eriko is both talented and resembles Mai, I cant help wonder what the hell does Mai, a minor villain character from the first Dragon Ball saga, has to do in this movie supposedly based on the Saiyan saga. I can make a few conclusions but all of them end with the prospect of CGI dog-ninjas which is both frightfully awful and hilarious.
And finally another previous announcement is busted as we learn the role of Yamcha did not go to James Kyson Lee but instead to Joon Park, a relatively unknown Korean actor and previously Kpop singer of the band G.O.D., Mr. Park also has a minor role in the upcoming Speed Racer film. While Mr. Lee seemed like a good match at least Mr. Park is much more fitting in the muscle department although not much is known about his acting skills.
That is it for now, there are other minor news out there but nothing terribly exciting, we’ll keep you updated as this project gets ever more bizarre.

I prefer Rossum over Sodi. I know she’s a good actress and Hollywood can do wonders with make-up and costumes. And she speaks English. ^_^
What I’m wondering is where you came up with the conclusion that this movie is based within the Saiyan Saga. Piccolo is the villain, not Radditz, Nappa and Vegeta.
I think the actress for Mai should do, but I agree I’m confused and where she’ll fit in. the storyline vaguely resembles DB, perhaps Gohan’s experience in high school even more so!
Well the last plot summary I read said that goku’s friends and family suddenly are in danger by the appearance of other sayans. and unless you send all trance of the original plot to hell (which already happened since goku is a highschool student)piccolo cant be the villian as he stopped being so when the sayans arrive.
I think American fans of the series should start spreading a boycott like Japanese fans are doing, maybe then this madness can be put to a stop
For all of you who think this movie is completely crap and agree to its discontinuing. We do not know for certain that this movie will be completely horrific and a waste of our time. Dont you think that producers, actors, and directors think about these kind of things. The dragon ball franchise has become old yes, and trying to bring it back through a live action movie is like trying to bring the dodo bird back to life for the hell of it, only to see it become extinct again. But you know, im sure alot of us are curious. What if this movie at the least, brings back nostalgic memories in our heads, and even if its not the best movie out there. At least they tried. It could be a complete failure, but for now we dont know. So we as critics, fans, and movie watchers, should just give the movie makers their space, cause they never intrude into ours. Lets hope they make a great movie. Time will tell
A Dragonball live action movie that is no longer Dragonball. No wonder so many people out there are enraged by all this and are calling for a boycott.
I’ll rather have the hollywood guys steal from the Dragonball plot and make a movie with totally different names than have them soil the name of ‘Dragonball’.

lolololol, well, emma rossum is hotter than camila sodi imo, but thats not the reason y they gave the role to emma…. camila is prego!!! shes gonna hava fucking chubby check-rolly polly-fucking shit machine!!!!…. too bad it wasnt me T.T
