The Independent Film Channel. (or IFC) has been airing anime lately, Gunslinger Girl Samurai 7 and Basilisk, now you might have given the same reaction as me when you were browsing channels, and saw this. It was a shock to me too, but this is even more of a shock, apparently they are getting more from Funimation and airing them when they are released, Speed Grapher, Witchblade, and Hell Girl (Jigouku Shojo) are the new ones on the list.

I thought both were decent shows and I like where this channel is going, hopefully they get a lot of good feedback from this, and air more, I no longer have the anime network, I do not dare watch toonami, (although Adult Swim will be airing Code Geass sometime in the future…) and TechTv was bought out by G4, Rarely is anime seen on there now, only cops and re-runs of Ninja Warrior, and X-Play (blegh) . I’ve always seen the IFC as a respectable channel that played good classics, I’m glad anime is finally getting the recognition it deserves over here in the states.
