Miku’s Live Performance At Animelo Was A Bit Two-Dimensional
Monday 24 August 2009 @ 10:05 pm | By Ivan 'Nahu' Lozano 6 CommentsWell it turns out the only thing I got right about the ‘live’ appearance of Hatsune Miku on Animelo was the fact that it would be a giant Miku on stage. No holograms, no animatronics, no smoke and mirrors, just a big-ass LED screen and a video of Miku playing to some live musicians, a bit underwhelming if you ask me but then again Miku doesn’t have the budget that maybe Gorillaz had. She sang a couple of songs, both from her own repertoire and from Black Rock Shooter, good stuff but it really lacked more Miku on-screen time, after the middle of the performance you might as well had been watching a video.
Thanks Julie!

Not much!
You have to give it to them, though, as that is a really HUGE screen.
The dance for the first song looks like they copied it from the PSP game. I hope Miku looked way better than the PSP game.
i don’t see that high of a polygon count on the Miku on the screen… (i know.. i have issues xD)
they should at least modeled a Miku for the concert with slightly better hair and lighting… and at least something more than just a gradient background.
still it sounded great :D
I’m sure everyone was jerking to the BRS anime promo after anyways, so it’s all good.
Someone forgot to turn the comments off of a niconico video!
Miku’s ankles are so thin I cannot assimilate the interaction between the real world and the rendered one.
