Max Payne Movie Trailer is Out

If you didn’t already know, Mark Wahlberg is taking the starring role in one of the latest upcoming video-game to screen adaptations. I guess there’s no place to go but up after The Happening, right?
Everything you’d expect and want from a Max Payne movie is in here: a grim setting, cheesy monologues, femme fatales, slow-mo gunplay, and a lot of explosions. Looks like it’ll be a reasonably fun action film.

Seeing as how Max Payne’s story is rather an acquired taste as it is, there’s not much of a high mark for this movie to aim for.
Anyway, this looks like it might beat out Mortal Kombat (lol) when it comes to video game to movie adaptions. Already I see what looks like a Deep Six-esque area and the Aesir Corp. tower.
To be quite honest, I’m quite eager to see this. Hope it doesn’t drop the ball.
P.S. Shame on not using the excellent Max Payne theme, and instead using some generic melancholic guitar track. That was free brownie points to be had!
I watched the trailer and it looks pretty fun. I mean from the current generation of game movies this might hold water say better than….Doom, Blood Rayne.
Agreed about the guitar theme, but then again listening to the track gets you amped. I like Marky-Mark doing the upside down, leap shotgun blast move. Go BulletTime!
Im worried they will amplify the occult themes in Max Payne and turn it into something like Punisher meets Constantine.
Well I liked Constantine, but I gotcha. I don’t remember the Angel Of Death in Max Payne. Then again liberties are always taken when bringing something to the big screen.
hi
I think it looks FAN-F’N-TASTIC! Gritty, and true to the overall style of the games. Marky Mark does a good job as Max, and it’s got a very sin city vibe to it.
I’m looking forward to this one. Gotta be the first time i’ve said this about a game based movie since Silent Hill
