The Horde is back and now it brought friends. Left 4 Dead 2 was announced today to the total surprise of everyone. Its bigger, better and brighter, with a lot of the campaigns now taking place in daylight. Set in the southern United States, this game is composed of 5 brand new campaigns which are now finally intertwined in a bigger story. Here’s what we know.
Four new survivors battle the never-ending hordes of the undead this time. There’s Coach, a Football coach that looks surprisingly like the Fresh Prince’s uncle. Ellis, a mechanic that looks like the southern cousin of TF2’s Scout. Nick, a cynical conman and Rochelle, a TV producer.
The game promises a new and improved AI Director, new special infected, melee weapons (chainsaw!) as well as a ton of design fixes to get rid of all the ways you can trick L4D right now. The characters will now show a lot more emotion expressed in evolving dialogues, an improvement from the already brilliant conversations in L4D. Its coming out on November 17th of this year. That’s only a few months away! Valve sure knows how to surprise us. I will miss Francis though, I hope he’s killing vampires in some place when there are no Vans.

I hope it’s cheap. It definitely won’t be free since they are adding enough to slap a ‘2′ on. I just hope it won’t be another $50-60. Of course, I do expect that Valve would like that money.
The L4D2 announcement came out of no where, especially since you Valve released the “Survivor” dlc pack for the original. It’s exciting and sweet though. I play this game more than any other on my box.
