Kingdom Hearts 2, the hit game from the collaborative minds of Disney and Square, and based off of the original from 2002, finally gets a face lift. The Final Mix is set to deliver both a remastered version of the Japanese release of the game, but with the secrets and additions given to the US release. While normally this may not be a cause for celebration, the game also comes with a complete remake of the Chain of Memories game, originally on the Game Boy Advance. Fan boys of the series rejoice, for a trailer is out, and Chain of Memories is lookin’ Mighty Fine.

From what I understand there will not be an English release of this one, just like with the remix of the first game. The english version had all the secrets and extras so it wouldn’t benfit them to relase it here. On the plus side the US will be getting Kingdom Hearts 3 upon completion which has nothing to do with Sora, Riku, and Kiari.

I have faith that we’ll see a US release mainly because of how popular the series has become in the US. Square-Enix stands to make a fortune on this game.

I’m sure that an american version will come out. Can you imagine the legion of angry KH fans’ ranting when they read a game magazine and find out Final Mix only came out in Japan? If Square-enix is smart it will release an english version nationwide.
what really makes me mad is that Square says it’s just the US version with Japanese subtitles, but they go and add way more stuff than was EVER in the US version. That was a brand new area, a ‘new’ form (Sora’s old costume with all its old abilities), new scenes, all the bosses from chain of memories, and the fight between Sora and Roxas that was only a cutscene in the US version is a full on boss battle. And that’s only to name a few. >_>
I wonder if they’ll make entirely new music for the Chain of Memories remake..
o__o Wow, Final Mix? We didn’t even get the first one in Final Mix did we? (Freaking bogus..) SO, I find it hard to believe we’ll get the second in Final Mix (though, it does look pretty good doesn’t it? ..AxelRoxas fanservice anyone? –Sorry to those offensive to yaoi–). Now, I will be surprised if we don’t get KH: Re: COM. I mean,….we got the one on GBA (which I lost. I think it got stolen), so why not the revamped PS2 version? Eh, wait, it IS going to be on PS2(3) version right? The graphics show that. Anywho..(RikuSora fanserive anyone? –Same apology applies–) I find myself anxiously wanting to play KM: Re: COM. I mean, it looks so much better. I say, I didn’t get too much into COM when I had it. (It’s the cards..) And you get to fight as Riku I can see. Also, who says KH3 will have nothing to do with Riku, Sora, and Kairi? Unless I get reliable sources, I think I’ll hope and dream.
–Does KH: Re:COM come with the Fianl Mix…I mean, the commerical confused me a bit. …If so…there goes dreaming. I’ll be a sad girl to learn of this.

Also, Lt_Amuro, of course it was a whole lot of other stuff. The Final Mix always has more crap to it than the original one. I know that the KH Final Mix has the “Skip Scene” when we didn’t it in the first one, and the much better Deep Dive. I believe you got to fight more enemies in the Hades Cup (verify?). And this KH2 Final Mix seems to have more plot structure.
*shrugs* I don’t know what Square Enix was on when they said that. XD
I think they’ll make one here, like someone above said, SE stands to make a boatload. Which is hopefully why they’ll break exclusivity on KH3, I cant afford a PS3 and SE stands to make tons releasing it on multiple platforms
Well, it’s nice to dream and hope. I mean, I’m not ruling out the fact that maybe they will make a KH2 Final Mix, but I find it unlikely. It would be quite unfair to make the Final Mix for the second and not the first, but it would be a great money making for them indeed. I do, though, think that Square Enix would be smart enough to make the revamped COM into English version, for all those players who were not commited enough to play on GBA (myself included). And with the type of game KH is, it’s better to play it on a bigger playing field than a small one like GBA.
I think I have heard somewhere (unsure if it’s reliable) that KH3 will be on PS3, but it may not happen. I agree with you that making it a PS2 game would be better because you can play it with a PS3 (if you have one). Though, if it doesn’t, let’s hope the prices have gone down south.
I played Chain of Memories, and it’s down straight HARD to beat, especially with the card laws thing-a-ma jing. But it’s a very nice game on the whole. Especially BECAUSE it’s Kingdom Hearts…*smile*
Maybe the revisited version would be a tad bit easier. Not in battle difficulty,’cause that would suck, but maybe there would be some more help on how to create a good deck in order to progress in the game, and maybe have some hints on which skills we’d need the most whilst leveling up the most and actually choosing the wanted ‘basic’ skill, instead of just choosing the ‘improve skill’ option at the Level up menu and see what skill would come up at random…or at least it works like that for me:S
And the revisited KHII:whoa! It looks waay better than it’s past one! Now you can even battle Roxas instead of just wacthing that specific cutscene! Just GREAT!:D

It looks like KH2: Final Mix will have a new Drive Form based on Sora abilities from the original Kingdom Hearts. That’s pretty cool. But, I just can’t help but think that they won’t make an American version. I pray to whatever powers that be that they do, but I think it’s more likely that they won’t.
Holy crap! This thing is awesome! I’m glad that Dark Energy Knuckles showed this thing to me! And it says that it’s coming out March 29th 2007. If it’s the Japanese version, then I do NOT wanna know how long it’ll be until the American version comes out. IF they make it.
Well, I might see about importing this and playing it on the PS3 (since I think it’s still region free). I would say that there is a possibility that there will be a US english release sometime maybe this year (year end) basically because KH is more popular now than it was when the first came out, and yes Square could make more money :/. All I can do is pray and hope…and petition :D.

All i know is they better release this in the US, Square-Enix would make so much freakin money because of the huge US fanbase (so they’d be truely stupid to keep it Japanese-only) and it looks freakin awesome. As someone said before, there seems to be more of a story than the original (i mean there looks to be more background, etc.) and more special Abilities. And that one Battle towards the end, the one with Sora pitted up against what seemed to be Roxas, sad to say it, but that battle looked even cooler (and harder) than the battle with Sephiroth in both KH1&2 (note the awesomeness and total intensity of the battle, Damn you teasers!)

Ryustar the game is coming out on PS2 with a PS2 remake of the GBA Chain of Memories (AKA KH 1.5)
Plus there is more features better backgrounds, slightly better graphics and at the moment funny japanese voices playing the cast in COM unless SE will actually release the game in the USA with an english voice cast, but like i said there bound to tell us by may at the Square Enix Party

Wow. This looks totally awesome, especially the Chain of Memories feature - the GBASP version was pretty cool, but it can’t compare to THIS.
i think KH 2 FM WILL come out in the us cause theres one scene in the trailor thats in english that wasnt in the original game so that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
and in COM how are they gonna cast the voice of sora since his voice already changed. >.>
Oh btw, according to KHInsider.com, there have been some rumors (of course) talking about a US release of KH2:Final Mix from a couple different resources (maybe even SE? it’s possible) saying that a US/European release of the game would occur in Fall of this year.
Personally, I’m hoping for a Summer Release ^.^ because Kingdom Hearts freakin rocks and I had a hard enough time waiting for the original release of KH2

…More than likely they’ll still use Haley. I mean, if you heard him talk in the interview he did for KH2, he sounded really different! But when he got into Sora mode, his voice changed to Sora’s more…”puberty”ized voice. I believe he could pull off a younger Sora, maybe. Anywho, if he couldn’t, would it matter? We’d have his voice..in English. =D Does that make sense?

Ha! You are right, there is no “real” KH yuri. Yaoi is way more popular in KH than yuri is. I guess it can be because no main girls beside Kairi really take a role? And even then, Kairi isn’t even in it much.

It’s true when they say that KH is one of the most slashy/slashed games ever.
Contrary to the widespread-panic-opinion that’s here, Sora is in KH3 if anyone has seen the the spoiler pic that square released to show a little more of the secret ending. Also, I’ve heard many rumors in interviews that KH2 FM is going to be released in the US late this year. Honestly, Google or Yahoo it and see for yourselves.
Yeah forget to mention: KH2 FM would be awesome by itse;f however the remade CoM is what I REALLY want. Always wanted to fight those boss battles in a 3-D environment especially Marluxia at the end and soon we will see that. Gonna look nice.

Heres the low down of what i think, its either going to be in English but in japanese subs. If this happens then i dont know if i would want to buy it(ya i’m not that great at learning japanese let alone english). but i guess if i had a chance like if it was right infront of me i would get it. HOPEfully it’ll go nation-wide and be in english.
Matt, I hardly believe there will ever be a game in the West that will be officially released with even slight traces of the Japanese language. The audience for that market is believed to be too small and frankly, as you say, for most it would be an eyesore
But I would like to have the option of English / Japanese in the game settings.
Language barriers aside, I believe the Japanese voie actors do a much better job than the American. There are some really frightening examples out there

Wait….. you’re right, it does say DVD-rom under KH Re:COM, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be a PC game, If you’ve noticed, all PS2 games are DVD-Rom, meaning it’ll definitly be a PS2 game. ^.^

I haven’t played Castlevania but I think I know what you mean. Soul Calibur III did have Japanese voices, as an optional choice to the English ones, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time is supposed to have a few NPCs that say Japanese words.
What I wanted to get across though is that the probability of a game with Japanese subs or dubs released in the West is very small.

Oh, getting off of that tiny little fact, I know what you mean and I understand. Well, this is America after all, and people might get mad about something like that. Where it’s in Japanese with an English dub with EVERYTHING from Japanese. (I did watch a movie in the HBO channels where it was Japanese with English subs. And an anime with NO dub at all just a sub in English.

Oh. Em. Gee. Um. Okay, so I’d be WAY more excited about the revamped KH: COM because I loved that game. I just don’t seem to get into games on handhelds very much. As far as any special videos from KH2:FM, well… Ehh… That’s what we have the internet for. That’s how we saw the sheer awesome-ness of the KH1:FM ending video. Besides.. They have a secret video in KH2. And if a longer one comes out in FM, again, we have the internet. I’d be willing to pay $30 for just the KH:RE:COM. Seriously. It’s perty.

You don’t need a Japanese PS2 to play imported games. Chipping is one option. There are still other ways of doing it too. Swap Magic, for example, is a CD-tool you put in the PS2 (then mix around a little) then put in your imported game and viola =)

The the fight angainst the robed figure was only a cinematic and there was never the part where Xenmas anagrammed ‘Sora’into ‘Roxas’ AND the remix of CoM! This is a teaser trailer for a new Kingdom Hearts spinoff series which will have very little or nothing to do with the game’s current storyline.
This was confirmed by Nomura himself in a magazine interview.
My opinion is that this game takes place in another dimension from the KH one or maybe in the future of KH?

i belive, after seeing the final mix video that everyone is raving about, that the spin off game is definatley set to take place in the original kingdom hearts series past at least as far back as before xehonort lost his memory. infact nomura hinted that the next game would center around xheonort. plus micky is weilding star seeker indicating that he is still yen-sid’s aprentice. also it says in sunset horizon that it all began with birth by sleep and the new video is called birth by sleep. they arent being enigmatic they are being litteral. all of the problems with xheonort began with that battle. infact i am forced to conclude xheonort was good untill this shit went down and he lost al his memorys and became obsesed with darkness the way we know he did

well if it doesnt come out to america u can always but a mod chip and install it to ur ps2 so u can play imports then just order it from japan. if u have played it enough then u will know the controls by heart so the kanji wont matter.

Well i am glad that Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be about Sora, Riku, and Kirie. Because Kingdom Hearts 2 had a perfect ending.
I have played lots of RPG games and none of them compars to Kingdom Hearts because KH has such a great story and such great charicters. But like i said in my last message, I am glad that KH3 will not be about Sora, Riku, and Kairi (i didnt spell her name right in my last log) because it had such a perfect ending.

One of the knights was Roxas, so Sora is partly in it lol
I found out that kingdom hearts 2 final mix is coming in the us and europe in fall and kingdom hearts 3 is going on the ps3.
Kingdom hearts 2 FM is only for Japan….nothing has been said for anything about english version yet. All i have to say is it better be with all the same people and it better come out for ps2 and ps3…the graphics would be 1000 times better on ps3 but not everyone can afford one. I also think they should put one out for the psp…so u can take KH where ever you go….
i dont know i think it should be only for teh ps2 cuz the ps3 really sucks even playstation said it sucked and it cost like 600$ its nto worth it
2 things to say.
First, the original FM didn’t hit our stores because japan didn’t get some of the things that we got in OUR version of the game.
Second, we WILL get KH2FM+ because we got the same things in our version of the game that they did!!
Also, RE: Chain of Memories DOES come with FM+ so be happy!

Anyways, the three people in the secret trailer at the end aren’t Roxas, Riku, or any of those. The one with the silver/blue-ish hair is Aqua, the one that looks a bit like Roxas is Ven (thats his nickname, I don’t think his real name has been given out yet.) And the brown-haired guy is Terra. sorry if this sounds rude, but that much is kind of obvious considering that the ps3 is out, and doing horrible in sales.

yeah kh2fm+ is in english with japanese subtitles, they did the same thing with the first final mix as well. before you ask, the whole of re: chain of memories is completely japanese!!!
has anyone actually played the original chain of memories?
I played KH:CoM… Mind you, I haven’t beaten Riku’s story yet, but I own and have played it. Pretty good game…

It’s only a fansite, but I browsed around a bit. Why don’cha check it out? There’s even rumors on there that there’s going to be Pixar worlds (Toy Story, Incredibles, etc..)since Disney bought Pixar and all. But hey, can’t always go by rumors. Ha. :P
About KH:COM. I haven’t been able to play it unfortunately. My GBA broke a loooooong time ago. xD
Played but not completed, I thought the whole ramndom battle thing got a tedious and I eventually just put ti down, but I liked the organization in that game, now, has anyone read the manga?
I own the game, beat both story lines and am now happily enjoying remixed tracks for the game that, incidentally, I downloaded from kingdomhearts3.net!

i own kh:com beat sora story, but i cant beat the last boss of rikus story and as for the manga i own all of the english volumes

kingdom hearts 2 final mix will be the last kingdom hearts for the ps2
all you have to do to get the new ending is beat the game on the new difficulty, like proud mode in kh2, but be warned! the game is ALOT more difficult than proud mode ever was!
by the way, prince chris, where do you get your info?
I only ask because I know for a fact that a fall us release is indeed possible, but very questionable.

oh, and btw, XIII, my suggestion is to do 1 of 2 things, first and foremost, level up some more. second, try getting a different angle on the fight, my strategy is to get into dark mode and hit him with the second attack of a combo, them hit him with a sleight. if his shadow is defending him, double jump and hit him from behind! and always remember, 0 cards are VERY usefull! :)
