Kid Buys Madden 09 at Walmart, Gets Disk Labeled “Redneck Shit”

The Consumerist reports on a reader who took their son to Walmart so he could pick up a game with his Christmas money. The boy chose Madden 09 and rushed back home with the gift. On the morning after, our young gamer was getting ready to enjoy the gaming masterpiece that is Madden, until he opened the game box. Perplexed, he exclaimed “WHAT IS THIS?!”, then rushed to his mother to show him the cause of his distress. Inside the game box was a generic DVD labeled “Redneck Shit”.
The work of some clever prankster/scammer/smartass? Sure! Still, isn’t the honesty refreshing? Quick someone go get me some blank DVDs and a sharpie, I have some Wii games that need “sad excuse for a game” written all over them.

I would figure that message would go in a NASCAR game box before a Madden game box.
This is great. I wonder if it was shrinked wrapped and everything. Hahahahaha. Sucks for the kid though.

Let’s get real here: This blank disk is only slightly lower quality than the typical Walmart product, what with the fact that they’ve forced all their suppliers overseas, where they make the cheapest, shoddy products imaginable. How many times have you purchased something at a Walmart that had obviously been reboxed and then you take it home and it becomes immediately obvious that it was a returned defective product they just put right back on the shelves?
Never really, I try not to buy from Walmart. Usually there’s a better choice!
I rent things from Walmart powertools/ electronics. As long as I have the receipt I just return it.
