Kadokawa To Allow Its Content On YouTube
Friday 30 May 2008 @ 1:19 am | By Ivan 'Nahu' Lozano 1 CommentKadokawa (of Keroro, Haruhi, Lucky Star fame among many others) has struck a deal with YouTube by which if it finds its content or derived content from its properties it will put up its own selection of ads on the video page and share the revenue with the poster. This deal, beyond covering its series being uploaded on their entirety is really looking to cash in on AMV’s (anime music videos), parodies, joke dubs among others. While its not as progressive as GONZO’s strategy of offering its content dubbed, online, for free at the same time as in Japan, it’s still a sign of an attitude change towards the internet and the western markets.
