yes, in Seed and SD at least, but they had N-jammers (made nuclear reactions imposable) and N-jammer-canclers to allow certain Gundams to be fit with nuclear power sources

well, i saw a article about a power supply for a medium size one was about 7 diesel engines i think, and was about 729 million yen, i think. the brain would have been i ibm super computer, i cant remember the rest.

A mech of the scale in Gundam is unlikely, but with only a small defense force medium-sized mecha (topping out at let’s say half the height of the picture) can certainly be combat effective at anti-tank and perhaps ground-to-air. Japan has the resources to be the first to publicly develop combat mecha and it is a bit frightening. They had better not fly though.

The picture Nahu posted has been in the ‘Net for ages :p first time i saw it was around 2001-2002 or something (correct me if i’m wrong)

As for real-life mecha, the ones from Gasaraki still seem like the only reasonably real… or at least usable in real life.
