wowmount.jpgCan there be something, anything, that is just too good? So good that it starts hurting others? Well there seems to be and I’m not talking about porn. According to Brian Sullivan, co-creator of the AOE series and current president of Iron Lore Entertainment, the biggest problem to PC games right now is World of Warcraft. It seems to be just a little bit too good. Sullivan said:

For retail PC games, I think the biggest problem is World of Warcraft. It is such a compelling MMO game that it sucks up a lot of money and time that would normally be spent on other retail PC games.

He’s outspoken about his admiration for WoW, its not really a bash. But really Brian, is WoW really too good or is the competition really just that mediocre? Its true that MMOs do take a bigger toll on our time than your average PC game but thats because the good ones, like WoW, provide so much more than the rest. And yet, as WoW rakes in the bucks and thousands of hours from gamers, Oblivion, GTA, Half-life and every other good PC game out there doesn’t really seem to suffer. Makes you think huh?
