Well ever since the rumors started pouring that the next game in the Guitar Hero series wasn’t going to be developed by Harmonix but by Neversoft (think Tony Hawk) everyone’s been wondering what exactly was Harmonix going to be doing then. The original developer was recently bought by MTV and they obviously had to have something in their hands.
Daniel Sussman, Harmonix Producer, has told Gamasutra that the studio is now working on “We are instead working on a different music game project, one that is a bigger and more ambitious endeavor than we felt we could pursue within the bounds of the Guitar Hero franchise.” Hmm, so they were bought by MTV, giving them nearly unlimited access to songs, and they want to do something bigger. I say its obviously a full band game, with a complete adventure getting your band together, selecting/buying songs and performing your way to the top. Perhaps even with more rip-off peripherals from Konami.
