Gurren Lagann Season 2 Confirmed?

One of my sources informed me that while at Fanimecon on Sunday, the president of GAINAX, Hiroyuki Yamaga, let slip details on a possible next season of 2007’s rating-piercing hit, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. After discussing the upcoming Gurren Lagann movies for a bit, he supposedly asked the panel attendees, "Do you also want a new story?", and after overwhelming cries of "YES!" "YEAH!" and "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!?", he simply replied: "I want to say something, but I can’t."
GAINAX had previously announced the production of a Gurren Lagann movie for release this fall with a possibility of a second in the spring. Yamaga-san has had a history of attending Fanimecon for several years, and this year gave up his usual "Guest of Honor" status, instead bringing over several other members of GAINAX for a Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann panel.

while the first series had plenty of colsure there is plenty of room for a sequle, for example they could make a prequal about how Lord Genome became the Spiral King, we would know what happens but the details would be intristing, they could do a story about Gimmi and Darry, fight a new enemy while tring to unite the spiral races, it could be everything Gainax loves to fight the tide of mondain anime, but they could also do what die buster did and create a hole new story with new characters and new mecha, though they should keep Lagann if they do that but make a new combuned mecha, some say they could be talking about the parrelel works, but why cover such a minor thing up? though this is Gainax we’re talking about.
this anime is the most amazing, full of energy and spirit!!!

maybe a new story with simon in it. (why not a story about simon changing the past and bringing his brother back with some help from some unknown being, then after bringing his brother back, this unknown being was some supah-strong enemy? how bout that??? huh? huh? huh? WHO DO YOU THINK I AM??!!??!!!?!!)
