Guitar Hero breaks free Harmonix gets caught

We’ve recently learned from IGN that Guitar Hero II is coming to next gen consoles on 2007. Which raises the question of if they are going to make a different controller for each console or try to consolidate it all on one. And how much would this controller end up costing? Is RedOctane going to end up with a $100 dollar controller like a DDR pad?
And then we hear that MTV bought Harmonix fro 175 million dollars. Which is nice and all, but if MTV starts sticking its fingers in the development of Guitar Hero we could end up with a game filled with bland rock from flavor of the week artists.
Its bittersweet, more bitter though.
