MTV’s website has an article about an interesting hands-on session with GTA IV and as the title of the piece says, GTA IV is less like a video game than ever before. A snip from the article:

Shooting a policeman, a criminal or a civilian will cause them to tumble with convincing physics. Shot people look hurt. Cars handle more realistically and more distinctly, depending on the type, making driving feel more true to life. The improved physics and animation make the game feel more real, the player’s actions more fraught with consequence. We stole a car, tried to evade police and fishtailed through an innocent crowd. Our car was damaged. The cops swarmed. And so while trying to drive up a hill, our vehicle simply stalled.

Oh boy they just keep making them murder simulators more realistic huh? But apparently the game can still get pretty slapstick-funny when you make the streets become your bowling alley with rag-doll physics.

April 29 cant come fast enough!

It may have a more realistic physics engine, but I’m not sure anything could beat Manhunt for simulating brutal murder (not in my book at least). This franchise just seems to be teaching all the kiddies to disassociate. :P

I’m still gonna play it. ;)

Oh yes, Manhunt was awesome! Right from the get-go you could do really gruesome stuff. Just imagine the next manhunt on the GTA IV engine! :D
