Its hard being a gaijin in Japan, let alone a gaijin in Japan’s animation business. And if anyone’s the right guy to tell you about it, its Michael Arias. He’s the mind behind Tekkonkinkreet’s big screen adaptation. Also, he’s the first foreigner to direct anything in the japanese animation industry.
Patrick Macias has an interview with him and I suggest you read it if you have any ambition to go into the anime business.
