Soon very soon... I think gaming companies are on the cusp of developing more technologies like this as phones are becoming more powerful and cheaper to produce. Until that happens "Alice" will remind me that one day I can look forward to a future like Blade Runner & Total Recall, actually I'll just go for Back to the Future II.

I remember a couple of years ago some guys did a gaming experiment with this technology turning the real world into a FPS game. The possibilities are amazing, mix this with GPS and suddenly the world is your scenario.

Well, depending on how easy the source files for the models can be changed or possible using the ARDev kit to "tweak" some settings this could provide some interesting edutainment. Strictly to learn augmented reality programming of course...:)

SO I just sent an email to these guys to get more information. I can't wait until more AR stuff gets into the public hand. While this may raise an eyebrow, using software/hardware like this in games or say a city for the tourism bureau would be amazing. Imagine going to a city you've never been in, scanning an image of a bus stop with you camera phone and up pops an interactive map you can plan your route around entertainment locales.
