Final Fantasy V’s battle theme meets Mario Paint
Sunday 5 July 2009 @ 5:26 pm | By Random J 6 CommentsOne guy with serious talent and time on his hands took on the task of composing Final Fantasy V’s battle theme using Mario Paint. This isn’t new. But it’s still so good I gotta give it air time. Brace yourself for the sonic assault of cat’s meowing, dog’s barking, GameBoy’s beeping, sounds of Yoshi’s, some killer basslines and awesomeness.
This dude is THE best Mario Paint composer around. A lot of videos on YouTube claiming to be Mario Paint compositions in-fact use a Mario Paint composer program for PC which gives users much more flexibility with their compositions. Such as adding sharps, flats and holding notes for longer than one beat. But this guy keeps it completely real and old skool by composing around the confines of the original Mario Paint. You gotta admire that.
I love it. I just love how gangsta the original Mario Paint sounds.

It sounds well good!
:D
It sounds a bit weird in some bits- wait, of course it will sound weird; it’s on Mario Paint!
I did a transcription of a classical piece on MPC but I haven’t found a way to successfully make a video of it.
Oddly enough, making music was one of my favorite parts of mario paint. Which is kinda bizarre, since now i don’t do anything music related, and just work on art :p
