I am now continuing this 4 part series with the Microsoft Conference.
Overall, I would of enjoyed this conference the best… if they didn’t lie to us the whole time.
But anyways, I thought peter moore was funny… especially when he paused the rockstar game right in the middle of a song… oh old white men playing video games… makes me laugh.

However shortly thereafter the inaccuracies began: The xbox360 has had 3rd party games in the top 10 18 times since november, and wii or ps3, has had none yet… well thats untrue.
The first week of wii’s release saw 2 games in the top 10: Red steel (Ubisoft) and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (Sega) this was November 25th 2006.Then on the 27th of january 2007 rayman raving rabids (ubisoft) was at number 10. Then on the 24th of february 2007 Virtua figher 5 (sega) for the ps3 was number 7 and Sonic and the secret rings (sega) was at number 6. I think you catch my drift.
As you can see, they are full of it with that essesment.
Then they went on to say that the top 5 selling games of the last gen is: Gta 3, Gta Vice City, Gta San Andreas, Halo 2, and the original halo… This is correct… except for the original Halo.
Halo: Combat evolved sold 5 million units worldwide. A very respectable number… however they seem to have forgotten to mention that Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec sold 11 million units worldwide, that Metal Gear solid 2: sons of liberty sold 7 million units worldwide, that Super Smash Bros. Melee sold 6 million units world wide, that Kingdom Hearts sold 5.6 million units world wide, that super mario sunshine sold 5.5 million units worldwide… all of them better sellers of the last gen then Halo ever was.
Anyways, They then went on to reveal the ugliest controller I have ever seen… It looks like fischer price even went “I would never make something like that.”
They then showed Naruto, which is exclusive to Xbox360… whatever
I’ll just skip to the parts that interested me.
Anyways, They showed off some gameplay of ” Assasin’s Creed” with the ever pretty Jade Raymond… anyways the gameplay absolutely blew my mind… I’m definately impressed by this game. Way to go Ubisoft Montreal, bring the studio back to glory.
They also showed off this game called Mass Effect, which impressed me, and so Did Lost Odyssey, by the creator of the Final Fantasy games. Also I’m looking forward to seeing more from Resident Evil 5.Sure Assasins creed and RE5 are on ps3… but Let’s face it, the cheaper console wins my vote.So outside of 360’s infinite FPS games, they are going to have some very quality games coming out. I’m actually considering at this point in time the purchase of a 360 fi it was a little cheaper, well and didn’t always fail
They ended the night with a bang… not the way I’d end a conference, but since it is their biggest game, I suppose it was alright… they showed a trailer of halo 3…. Now if only the halo 3 hype hadn’t blown over.

1. They’re probably cheating and counting the sales of Halo PC/Mac.
2. That controller looks like the PS2 Buzz controller. Except, y’know. Crap.
even if they did, it woudl still only amount to 9 million units (5 million on xbox, 4 million on pc.) and Gran Turismo would still be ahead. However, that is unfair in the aspect that pc’s don’t really have any last gen.
Damn, that controller looks just like a toy for a 1 year old child. Nice going, Microsoft! Victory shall be yours!!
Also, I’ve watched a few trailers of Mass Effect. I have to admit: Bioware sure knows how to make RPGs. This game looks fantastic!
Now now, lets not start putting off controllers for looking simple and childish. Some analists did that with the Wii and look at it now!
This might turn out to be a plus.
well, depending on what kind of games you can play on it…
