Dragonball Evolution 2 Is Already Written

So Dragonball Evolution came out, and as horrible as the movie was, it could have been much much worse. We survived and now there’s only about a dozen more anime movies in the making to go through, right? Wrong, it doesn’t end here! With Dragonball Evolution having been a moderate success worldwide and the movie already turning profits, the Hollywood tycoons aren’t going to give up. That’s right, there’s a sequel, and its already written.
When talking to MTV news, Justin Chatwin revealed that a sequel for the movie has already been written and its only awaiting a green light depending on the success of the Evolution. Furthermore Spike the Vampire… I mean Piccolo himself, James Masters, has stated that:
“We’re going to get to ‘Dragonball Z’ later, where Piccolo becomes youthful and he’s going to become the Piccolo that most people recognize.”
So are we looking at a second part based on Dragonball Z’s first act? Will we get to see Vegeta and Napa? Will its profit level be over 9000?!

Listen the movie was okay and yeah the effects could be a little better but did anyone bitching about the movie ever see a preview before hand? If so you would know it wasn’t like the anime. I knew it going into the theater. If they do make a second movie it will most likely bring the story of the saiyian into focus. With gokus brother landing on earth after all that’s when he found out about it. That fact wasn’t even detailed until he trained with king ki. In dragon ball he was just a kid with a tail that was really strong. In the movie he was a teen that was strong. No tail which was removed after his first transformation into the great ape. So gaps in the story there were lack of a tail no Krillian was stupid. However the movie was decent enough to warrent a second attempt if the people writing these things will try and bring the story back even a little bit. Oh and the dragon was stupid it was tiny and didn’t even speak the phrase your wish is granted or any twist on what shenlong did say.
actually goign by the movie timeline this is the 1st fight against piccolo so in fact he should be a kid. there was no mention of a tail. and piccolo didn;t even know goku transformed intoan oozaru but in the movie he controls him. goku was never called the chosen one and the balls don;t give u visions by them selfs there ornaments
i know that the dragon sucked but if it makes u feel better i yelled the words your with is granted at the top of my lungs

I don’t know how these bastards got in control of this franchise, but whoever is writing this f***ing dross should be hung.
The film is SO disrespectful to the true Dragonball fans it is untrue.
I hated every moment of this camp, romantic love story, rip off, poorly performed, poorly cast, glorified power rangers episode.
It is a disgrace, and to say you walked into the theatre expecting something other than Dragonball when the TITLE has DRAGONBALL in it is a joke!
This film has not even stayed true to the characters! Of all things! Bulma looks like f***ing lara croft, Goku looks like a scrawny indie kid (and should actually be a little kid with a tail), Master Yoshi looks like some completely new random concept and doesn’t even behave like the character in the Anime!
Then there are the MAJOR contradictions that betray the story entirely and reduce the film to a souless empty, shallow, shell of what it could have been, like Goku going to school, and the fact it’s set in what seems to be a present day setting, but it should be kind of mystical and fantasy…
Then there is the energy blasts, that are used to light F***ING CANDLES…
OH MY OH MY
I could go on and on, but frankly, I can’t be asked, this FILM SUCKS! LITERALLY! IT SUCKS ATTENTION FROM THE FRANCHISE, AND WITHOUT USING THE NAME AND CHARACTERS IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE GO AHEAD.
They knew they could suck in a load of people who knew about the Anime/Manga, and they abused our trust.

I could have directed a better f***ing first film than this with a lower budget.
DB/DBZ/DBGT is SO MASSIVE it could have been put out over 5 or 6 QUALITY movies, which would have been spent time and made effort over.
BUT NO……
They give us LOADS of Harry Potter movies so why couldn’t they have done it with Dragonball? It would have RULED! It would have been a total hit and even drawn in more and more people to the Dragonball franchize, but this film sucks SO BAD I wouldn’t be suprised if people are actually put off even looking into the Anime.

I totally agree with you 100%. I can understand changing some of the details of the show to make it fit in to a movie, but when you change the story completely then how can it be called an adaptation. There better not be a sequel because they will be getting into the dragonball z story, and if the fans find out that they are going to mess with that just like they did with Dragonball than there is going to be a riot all over the world.
ok the movie I have to add mite it was a tiny bit gay but if u wacthed the tv show u could see like 20 diffrences between it like when goku turned into a great ape its not every eclipse it’s every full moon and every thing ese like the island roshi lived on and were was krillen an tien it was stupid they cut out all the funny people in the show but the only thing I want to see is what they make cell look like.
although i agree with a lot of the “they screwed it up” stuff, i still liked it but i would like almost anything dragonball, they are talking of turning it into a trilogy, but it honestl;y needs more than that, especially considering the fact that the Buu saga would definitely make the most money in a film.

The only right thing were the names but the rest (the COMPLETE FUC**** STORY + the timeline) were so totaly messed up.
Of course I want to watch “the sh*t” i already know. All the “Lord of the Rings” “Harry Potter” or “Twilight”-Fans would have been just as mad as me if they had change the story wich they loved to read (or in our case watch).(so go screw yourself kid)
And for all of you who hope the DBZ-Version (if they plan to do that one) will be better. after messing up the storyline, you can forget the rest. Son-Goku turned into a super sayajin after Freeza killed Krillin. hmm well no krillin to kill no super sayajin (and thats just one aspect) (the only way is by messing up the storyline more and more…)

I was soooo excited to finally see a “real life” Dragonball movie but was SOOOOO DISSAPOINTED!!! I never watched the orginal Dragonball episodes and only started wathcing from DBZ, but my expectations were much higher than what Evolution brought to the table. The actors were pathetic, I can think of many different actors to play the characters and Goku (Chatwin) sucked ass!!! Goku is a funny guy who always laughs or has sarcastic comments to make to the baddies, but he was completely misrepresented. The special effects were limited and boring, if you take movies like xmen into consideration – there is so much they could have done better. We can just hope that the follow up will be better and that somewhere they read posts like these because the majority are negative.
there were so many plot holes that if u didnt know the story from watching the show you had no clue wat was happening or for that matter why why was piccalo free it never said and the great ape was like the size of lou ferigno as the hulk the whole movie was bad and i was there openning day and i watched all things dbz db or dbgt i say pan his grand kig as a toddler and as a grand ma when the serise ended i was hurt but im rammbling sry wat was i oh ya the movie sucked

piccolo looked very stupid, and goku didnt even look like goku, and the story was all fucked up so yer, i think they need to restart the saga, and just skretch that last movie off

then they need to come to akya and kiss his feet asking him to come and make a new one and give him 80% control over the next movie. so that we will get a decent one that wont leave us all with homecidal feelings towards the director who is with me

I don’t know what everyone’s fuss is about. I’m a pretty big fan of the original anime series and yes I too have seen the major differences between the series and the movie, But I enjoyed the movie. James Marsters performance as Piccolo was very awsome, same with Justin Chatwin, he fit the part of Goku very well. Yes originaly in this part of the series Goku was supposed to be a child, but I love this interpretation of the story. The cast worked well together, kind of hoping to have seen a Krillin but thats okay. I think the movie was pretty good seeing as it was a Japanese story told in an American setting, and though different, I enjoyed it and I hope to see the 2nd one be created, even if it has its own different story line, its fun to see other interpretations of stories. Its no different from when a Manga gets turned into an anime and all sorts of elements get changed, and it doesn’t necessarily make it bad.
Alot of people saying it had nothing to do with the original story, but I think though alot of differences come to play, it still kept the basic back story, even if the characters are different ages or whatever.
Honestly, I don’t think this was at all a letdown to the DB fan community.
I agree bring on more movies – its not like there will be anymore drawn by Akira Toriyama. Who cares if the film sucks. I pray that the next one is like Kung Fu Hustle.
when a manga changes to a anime they do mees it up a bit sometimes like battle angel alita her real name in the manga is gally u find this out at the end of the serise of boots in the anime they say her real name in the 1st episode i stoped watching right away after that

I agree it was crap but goku meets krillin while training with master roshi and he goes off to train properly at the end of the film so he could technically be in the next film. Saying that he should have been in this one & i agree with every negative thing said about this film just thought i should bring that krillin point up.
ok to me if it were a diffrent name diffrent characters and somthing inste of dragon balls id say it was good but it wasnt in fact it was like a big middle finger to the dragon ball series Bulma had blue hair in the series and in the movie she only had a blue streek in the movie and goku met bulma as a kid not at 18 master roshi was pale with a beard and in the movie he as tan wiithout the wasnt a nimbus cloud no krillin no tien or choutsu not even that little blue guy tat hung out with yamcha and where did mia com from sure thay dont have a budget for the real characters but thay do for the fake ones wheres gokkus tail thats like the main key to the story and gokus grandpa was crushed by goku not killed by pikkilo as for the dragon thay diddnt even get the name right its shenron not shenlong im only 15 and i bet i could do better with a $5 budget if they go on you can expect friza to be a guy with a purple helmet in a white spandex outfit,cell to be some guy in a cockrouch costume,and majin buu to be an inlarged chewed piece of gum dont expect vegita we wont get that kind of luck but i herd some other group is making a new dragon ball becase they diddnt like evolution thers still hope
well i think the movie deservied a second chance won’t u guy say i mean it’s the first one may they do better in the second one, rather complaining we have to thanks to them, atlist they started the droagonball movies so,if not JAMES WRONG do the right job then anybody else can do
Look, i know it wasnt like the series but it was never going to be. You cant base a film purely on getting the normail fan bace in. I kinda liked it, you slate it saying it was nothing like the cartoon but they daft jokes were in there and the basic story line was there. By the time he fought piccolo he was already in his teens anyway and the second times he was like 17 and chi chi was all over him. I think the next one could the the final battle with piccolo where they could intorduce krillen and tien etc and train with roshi for the torniment where piccolo comes back. Then there all nicely set for z where piccolo is kind of a friend when they have to team up. If they go straight to z now there gona struggle but it can its all do able and its not that bad. lighten up and enjoy a new twist on it.
yea i agree with everyone that says the movie sucks, it does, but then again i did enjoy it i give it about 2-3/5 as it could have been a hell of a lot better, ive been following DB,DBZ,DBGT for about 10 years now and know a lot into the storyline etc, and yes i agree most of the story was cut out, but since fox was successful in the matter and making a second one i think we can only hope they spark a flame again into all us hardcore DB fans :))

I dunno guys, I had extremely low expectations for the DB movie. It beat my expectations, so instead of it being a horrible movie, it’s a “meh movie. Seriously, a lot better than the Chun-li Street Fighter movie. I had high hopes for that one :(
In the second one, there better be Super Sayaijins or I won’t bother watching.
Its really sad to see that a lot of “Fans” just wait for the whole “Super Sayajin”-Action and don’t care about the story, the charakters. thats what Dragonball is really about. A little boy that never give ups, fights till his limits and gets stronger and more mature with every fight or new friend he finds…

When I first came across the movie, I felt disappointed with the actors they used for Goku and Bulma, and felt Piccolo’s costume was crap. As many others have said, the quality of the graphics doesn’t make sense when you consider other films that have been made like Xmen, matrix or Harry Potter.
So I knew they would change many elements of the story before I watched the movie. When I watched, I realised I quite enjoyed it, despite it being a fourth-rate movie. There are about 15 anime movies of dragonball, and many of us have watched them, so what would be the point in making films out of those movies? So they changed the storyline and made a different Dragonball which even though never will be as good as the original anime series, is entertaining in its own right, and this is the aim of the director and producer.
I’ve followed DB ever since it came out in the late 80’s all theway to the final episode. I KNOW DrangonBall, and that pile of steaming crap that came out was NOT DragonBall.. Everyone is bitchin, but few are making VALID points. Yes, the movie sucked balls after watching it the second time, but seeing it for the FIRST time in live action was a great experience. This movie was YEARS in the making. Rumors flooded the internet as well as fan-based magazines and then finally hollywood gave in to the people’s demands. But u gotta take into account that these production studios are after onlyone thing: MONEY! And if there is a big risk, they holdback the tools that are necessary to complete a great film. The budget for X2: X-Men United was a whoppin 100 million dollars. DB’s budget wasn’t even HALF of that. Which means that writer’s didn’t get paid well, newbie actors got jobs along with 2 established well-known actors (chow yun fat and ernie hudson) to give the movie SOME sort of credibility. Shooting locations were limited. CGI was minimal and outsourced to some guy living in a hut in the middle of Afghanistan who was still working off of Windows 95. Hollywood spent NO money and made over 50 mill. NOW they see some potential and hopefully will be willing to spend a lil’ dough on part 2. Maybe DB will fall victim to the “Incredible Hulk Syndrome” part 1 sucked, but part 2 kicked ass when they (hollywood) re-thought their strategy,, invested a little more funds, and got the input of several “hulk-ologists” as well as input from Stan “the Man”Lee. So let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Hollywood…if ur out there reading this and needhelp, don’t be afraid to call on the fans
