Disney’s Start Guitarist Turns Real Guitars Into A Game
Saturday 10 January 2009 @ 7:39 pm | By Ivan 'Nahu' Lozano 2 CommentsIf you play a guitar you’ve surely ranted against a few Guitar Hero/Rockband players for thinking they could play a real guitar. If you’re a hardcore Guitar Hero/Rockband player, you’ve surely toyed with the idea of picking up the real instrument. Well it seems a day were we can all agree is closer than ever before as Disney, yeah seriously, Disney, has finally got guitars and games playing along.
Star Guitarist is a new software/game/technology made by Disney in alliance with Washburn Guitars, which allows you to play a guitar and have a computer detect what’s being played in real time. The result is a Guitar instructor/Guitar Hero hybrid that’s able to teach you how to play the guitar in the same way that you’d play a Guitar Hero game. The software which comes with its own set of special guitar strings costs $200 and will be released for both the PC and Mac in the summer. Not only is it pretty sweet as a game, it’s also a breakthrough in digital music. Expect some pretty cool things from this in the future.

This looks sweet. Finally I can really be a Rockstar…I wonder if they will have a bass version too.
Now there is a real GuitarHero game.
