Diablo III Art Director Quits, Game Still not Sufficiently Grimdark
Saturday 9 August 2008 @ 3:41 pm | By Quiche 3 CommentsHonestly I think the whole Diablo III art direction controversy is a little silly, but a lot of people seem to care about it, so the gaming community took notice when Art Director Brian Morrisroe stepped down.
Now Blizzard has a job opening for a new Art director for the game, but they say the new guy will merely be carrying forward the vision that Brian already put in motion, rather than changing the look of the game in any significant way. Morrisroe left to “for a startup technology company,” moving onto greener pastures I suppose.

I wish people would shut up about the whole Diablo thing; the game’s gonna be great regardless of how well it captures the “essence” of the original. We’re talking about Blizzard here, come on!
I fully agree, i’m suck of all these lame whiners complaining about the art direction. I personally think they made the right move, and it at least adds variety to the locales. I remember playing Diablo 1 a bazillion years ago, and every floor of the dungeon looked IDENTICAL! Is that really what these whiny little complainers want?
The only thing I am really interested in is whether you will have new enemy types. I don’t mind the saturated color, but I don’t want to hack and slash my way through the same goblin with a new color at each level.
