Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Trailer Released

Opening with a very fancy CCCP-inspired EA logo and the familiar “Hell March” theme, this trailer gives us a glimpse at what the newest installment in the revered RTS franchise will look and play like.

The units and buildings look a bit similar to the Terran ones in recent Starcraft II footage, but the building animations with floorboards and scaffolds springing up and assembling like origami is one of the impressive little touches found in this game’s engine. Some other details are lines of fences falling down dynamically during combat, along with some impressive explosions and water effects.

Other than that the graphics look dated, but for an RTS that’s to be expected. Perhaps the most exciting footage is near the end, where a gravity bomb is set off, and all the units within a huge radius were pulled in and eliminated in a huge explosion.

The game is due out “Red October, 2008.” Heh.
