Japan Probe brings us this delightfully unique video from YouTube user AkiraUema playing Chrono Trigger’s Wind Scene on the Shamisen, enjoy.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m a huge Chrono Trigger fanboy, specially the music. Yasunori Mitsuda did a marvelous job with it. To see it played with such an odd instrument (at least in the west) deserves recognition! Someone do Battle with Magus on the marimba, now.

    To be more precise, it is a sanshin, the ancester of shamisen, from Okinawa.
