Can’t Crush His Dreams: American Works At Butler Cafe, Dreams Of Being A Pop Idol
Thursday 19 March 2009 @ 11:43 pm | By Ivan 'Nahu' Lozano 2 CommentsNTV presents a segment on the life of Will, an American living in Japan who works in a butler cafe. Did I mention he wants to be a pop idol?
The segment is actually a bit harsh on the guy, they criticize his living conditions, his un-japanese messiness, his inability to cook rice and even his singing. To add insult to injury he goes to an audition where he performs a popular song, the judge tells him he’d do better if he tried creating original songs. A piece of advice that without the ever-present Japanese politeness is probably something much more insulting than anything Simon Cowell could ever say.
Still, with a whole xenophobic culture breathing down his neck, Will brushes it all off and goes on. Gotta admire the guy, either he cant take a hint or you simply cant crush his dreams. I’m hoping its the later, rather than the former.

I wonder what are his passtimes or if he even is an otaku of our type…
D’awwww. He just needs a bit of training for his voice and he would be pretty damn good! He can sing better than the average person at least.
