Anime wasn’t always about magical girls, giant robots and tentacle rape. Indeed at one time it was innocent and pure, as this Japanese animation from 1933 reminds us.

The story is called Ugokie-Ko-Ri-No-Tatehiki or The Fox Versus the Racoon and as foreign as it may seem to today’s anime the main elements are still there! You’ve got your magical transformations, impossible physics, big breasted monsters and a super weapon that saves the day at the nick of time. Add some color and a couple of lolis and you wont even notice the difference!
