This week’s Famitsu brings word of a new RPG for the RPG-starved Wii. Arc Rise Fantasia is the tale of Bright, an up-and-coming mercenary that joins up with the army of the Meridian empire to fight an onslaught of “Contaminant Dragons,” which, as their name implies, contaminate their immediate surroundings after death. Joining him is his childhood friend Alse, a prince, Adele, a magic instructor, and Ryphia, the obligatory naïve girl with a mysterious past and abilities.
More scans and info after the jump.
The game is being developed by imageepoch, the studio behind the Luminous Arc games. If their record holds true, the game will look fantastic but will suffer from buggy and/or bland gameplay. The soundtrack is composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (Shadow Hearts, Xenosaga, Soma Bringer), so the game will at least sound good. Kenichi Yoshida draws on his Eureka 7 experience for the character designs.
No date has been given to the game yet either in Japan or in North America, so only time will tell if we’ll see this in English.
