Picture somewhat related. Apogee, a name we haven’t heard from in a long time, is resurrecting the Duke Nukem franchise the way it used to be: side-scrolling!
This new Duke Nukem Trilogy will be coming out for the DS and PSP, both catering to each system’s unique capabilities and strengths. Other exciting news is that they will also be reviving some of their other old franchises, which could mean new Wolfenstein or Commander Keen…

Nothing like parking bricks into alien toilets in 2D. Hopefully, all the series quirks will be present and plenty. Can’t have a Duke game without strippers.
With this announcement I’m hoping for a long overdue Death Rally 2. I spent many an hour playing the original, and I’d love a new one.
Ah, 2D Duke Nukem… The memories…
Well I’d certainly love to play a new Commander Keen, but seeing that the franchise has been left untouched for more than a decade, I kinda have to wonder if they’d really be able to make a good, fun CK game. But hey, if it works for Capcom and their upcoming Megaman 9, then it might just work for Apogee too.
Oh, and you guys can forget about Wolfenstein. We all know that id itself is making a new game based on the franchise, so I don’t think Apogee would be stupid enough to also make a new Wolf game. Besides, isn’t the Wolfenstein franchise property of id software?
Anyway, Apogee is back from the dead. Let’s see if it was worth bringing it back.
