A Wii graphic difference in Call of Duty 3

Ok, the guys over at Destructoid came up with this comparison shot of Call of Duty 3. Putting the Xbox 360 and the Wii version side by side (or top to bottom). The graphical differences are notable, taking into account these are two different settings and tanks. The Wii does use lower quality textures and its missing several detail objects as well as the obvious lack of shadowing. Click it to see it in magnovision.
Niero points out that it must be because the Wii cant handle it, since all of these features had already been programmed for the 360 version. But come on, no shadow? Something’s up, and I dont think its just the Wii. The guys at EA have no excuse, there’s not even a blob of a shadow, something which is easily done on current gamecube titles with no frame rate problems. Could this be a proof of lack of interest from EA?
Perhaps its that EA knows that the Wii crowd doesn’t care much for graphics, just like Sony thinks Europe doesn’t care much for delays. In the end, we will have to ask ourselves, do we want immersive graphics or immersive gameplay? Frankly I’d go for the gameplay, but its still to be seen if the Wiimote does indeed improve gameplay. What do you think? Tell us in the comments.
